Carpenter is not in the lineup for Game 3 of the NLCS against the Nationals on Monday.

Carpenter went 0-for-6 with three strikeouts over the first two games of the series, but should be available as a pinch hitter as he was for much of the NLDS. Tommy Edman will shift to third base with Jose Martinez starting in right field.

Stanton is not in the lineup for Game 2 of the ALCS due to a right quadriceps strain and he is considered day-to-day, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. He is available off the bench as a pinch hitter.

Manager Aaron Boone said Stanton injured his quad in Game 1 while running down the line on his infield hit, according to James Wagner of The New York Times. Boone said he hopes Stanton will be able to return to the lineup at some point during this series. Cameron Maybin gets the start in his place and will hit eighth.

Stanton is not in Sunday's lineup against the Astros for Game 2 of the ALCS.

Cameron Maybin and Brett Gardner will start next to Aaron Judge (from left to right) while Stanton heads to the bench. Stanton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Game 1. His absence from the lineup is pretty surprising, so perhaps his knee is bothering him again.

Carpenter is starting at third base and batting sixth in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Braves on Sunday, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.

Carpenter was on the bench for the first two games of the series and delivered an RBI single in his Game 1 pinch-hit appearance. The veteran infielder struggled with a .726 OPS for the season, but he came on strong in the back half of September with an .889 OPS in his last 11 games.

Ford failed to make the Yankees' ALDS roster.

Ford recorded a .909 OPS in 50 games this season, including a 1.142 OPS in the month of September. The Yankees will side with Luke Voit and his longer track record to begin the playoffs despite Voit's poor run down the stretch.

Pederson is not in the lineup for Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Nationals on Thursday.

Pederson has hit four home runs with six runs over the past six games but will retreat to the bench against southpaw Patrick Corbin. Chris Taylor will start in right field, batting fifth.

Choi is not starting Wednesday's AL Wild Card Game against Oakland, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Choi will take a seat with lefty Sean Manaea on the mound for Oakland. He's made the roster, though, and has a decent chance to appear of the bench in what could be a game full of substitutions. Yandy Diaz starts at first base.

Choi (foot) went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and a double Sunday in the Rays' 8-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Choi wasn't able to run at full speed while playing through the bruised left foot, but the injury didn't impact him at the plate. While Choi may continue to run with extra caution during the playoffs, he should remain a fixture in the heart of the lineup versus right-handed pitching.

Alvarez went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts Sunday in the Astros' 8-5 win over the Angels.

Alvarez will head into the postseason in a bit of a rut, as he failed to record a hit in 11 at-bats during the four-game series with the Angels while striking out seven times. The slump does little to diminish what was a banner rookie campaign for the 22-year-old, who slashed .313/.412/.655 with 53 extra-base hits in only 87 games. Following his June 9 callup, Alvarez's 1.067 OPS matched Alex Bregman for the team lead and trailed only three other hitters in baseball (Ketel Marte, Nelson Cruz and Mike Trout).

Turner (back) indicated that he will be in the lineup for Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Turner missed the final five games of the regular season while nursing a tight back but the injury is unlikely to cost him any time in the playoffs. The 34-year-old tied his career high with 27 homers this season while knocking in 67 runs and slashing .290/.372/.509 in 135 games.
