Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Reds' Jesse Winker: Hits bench Sunday
Winker is out of the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers.
Winker will be the odd man out Sunday in the Reds' four-man outfield carousel, with the fact that the Dodgers are starting a left-handed pitcher in Rich Hill likely factoring heavily into interim manager Jim Riggleman's lineup decision. The 24-year-old is hitting .190/.346/.238 (75 wRC+) against southpaws this season.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Will return Tuesday
Turner (wrist) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
According to manager Dave Roberts, the plan is for Turner to make his long-anticipated season debut Tuesday against the Marlins. The third baseman slashed .322/.415/.530 with 21 home runs and 90 RBI last season, so his insertion back into the Dodgers' middling lineup will certainly be a welcome addition.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Sits again Sunday
Carpenter is not in the lineup Sunday against the Padres.
Carpenter will be withheld from the starting lineup for the third consecutive game as the Cardinals close out their four-game series against the Padres. The veteran infielder made a pinch-hit appearance Saturday, so his extended absence does not seem to be injury-related. Manager Mike Matheny may just be looking to give the struggling hitter (.145 average) some time off to reset. Jedd Gyorko draws the start at third base Sunday.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Sitting again Saturday
Carpenter is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.
Carpenter also hit the bench Friday with left-hander Eric Lauer on the mound for San Diego, but righty Tyson Ross is pitching Saturday, so it's unlikely to be a matchup decision. The Cardinals' veteran infielder has yet to find any consistency this season and is 3-for-25 with 11 strikeouts in the month of May. Hopefully a couple days out of the lineup can help the 32-year-old get back on track.

Charlie Blackmon RF | COL
Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Triples and scores twice Friday
Blackmon went 3-for-6 with a triple and two runs scored in Friday's loss to the Brewers.
Blackmon got his first triple of the season off starter Brandon Woodruff in the third, and the three-hit night improves his slash line to .285/.388/.585. The 31-year-old's 11 home runs and 31 runs scored both rank in the top five among MLB outfielders.

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Cardinals' Marcell Ozuna: Hits third homer of season
Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs in the Cardinals' 9-5 victory over the Padres on Friday.
It had been a disappointing start at the plate so far for Ozuna coming off his career-high 37-homer campaign of last season, as this long ball was just his third in 142 at-bats. He's still sporting an underwhelming .261/.293/.359 slash line but hopefully this strong offensive showing is a sign he's in store for a hot streak that will see him start to push his .652 OPS back toward last season's fantastic mark of .924.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Could return early next week
Turner (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment at High-A Rancho Cucamonga Saturday and could return to the Dodgers early next week, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Turner will play third base for Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday and Sunday and could rejoin the Dodgers for the upcoming series in Miami, which starts Tuesday. The 33-year-old could require a couple extra rehab appearances given his significant layoff to start the season, but the Dodgers are hoping two games will be enough for the veteran third baseman to get re-acclimated.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Not in lineup against left-hander
Carpenter is out of the lineup against the Padres on Friday.
Carpenter will take a seat following three straight hitless outings and with southpaw Eric Lauer on the bump for San Diego. In his stead, Jedd Gyorko will start at third and bat fifth. Expect Carpenter back in the lineup Saturday.

Yoenis Cespedes DH | NYM
Mets' Yoenis Cespedes: Returns to lineup Friday
Cespedes (quad) is back in the Mets' lineup Friday against the Phillies, source reports.
Cespedes' sore quad prevented him from starting Wednesday, but he's already back in action. For the season, he's hitting a respectable (though disappointing by his standards) .248/.313/.457, with seven homers and three steals.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Seeing starts versus righties
Pederson started in center field and batted second Thursday, going 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in a loss to the Reds.
The Dodgers have been decimated by injuries in the early going, but even with Yasiel Puig returning to the lineup this week, Pederson continued his string of starts in center against right-handed starters. Manager Dave Roberts stated that Enrique Hernandez would take over center field duties, with Chris Taylor filling in for Corey Seager (elbow) at short, but his lineup cards over the past couple of weeks indicate that Pederson is on the strong side of a platoon. Seager has already been ruled out for the season, so this window of playing time could stay open for a while, making the 26-year-old a decent flier for power and counting stats.
