  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Smashes ninth homer

Belt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 7-3 loss to the Mets on Thursday.

The 31-year-old responded from snapping his 10-game hitting streak Wednesday night with a homer. Belt has nine home runs this season, which isn't a ton for a first basemen, but he's on pace for more than 25 in a 550 at-bat season. Belt has never hit more than 18 in any season, and last year, he only had 14. He is also batting .246 with 27 RBI, 29 runs and two steals in 187 at-bats.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Reaches base twice

Winker went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Thursday against the Cardinals.

Winker has reached base safely in eight of his last 10 contests, boosting his batting average by 17 points over that span. The 25-year-old has pieced together a .238/.316/.443 with 10 homers and 18 RBI through 55 games this season.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Swipes third bag

Carpenter went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base Thursday against the Reds.

Carpenter plated a run in the third inning on a single to right field, registering his 22nd RBI on the season. He's collected a base knock in each of his last six games, driving in five runs over that brief stretch.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Likely back Friday

Blackmon (calf) will likely be activated from the injured list Friday, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Blackmon is scheduled to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. The outfielder will play for the Isotopes on Wednesday and Thursday, and if everything goes off without a hitch, he'll likely rejoin the Rockies ahead of Friday's series opener in New York.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Cleared for rehab assignment

Blackmon (calf) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

As expected, Blackmon will join the Isotopes for what should be a brief rehab stint after getting through batting practice with no issues earlier in the week. The outfielder has been sidelined since May 24 with a calf injury, but he does appear to be drawing closer to a return.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Returns to lineup as expected

Turner will bat third and play third base Wednesday against Arizona, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Turner missed the last four games last week with a hamstring issue and returned for just one game before sitting again Tuesday. Tuesday's off day was considered a maintenance day, however, and he should be able to start on a regular basis moving forward. More pre-scheduled off days should be expected in the future given Turner's age and injury history.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Padres' Alex Dickerson: Cut from 40-man roster

Dickerson was designated for assignment by the Padres on Wednesday.

This move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Miguel Diaz (knee), who was activated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday. Dickerson went just 3-for-19 (.158) with a trio of singles and two RBI in 12 appearances for the Padres before being sent to waivers.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Swats leadoff homer

Carpenter went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Reds.

He took Luis Castillo deep to lead off the bottom of the first inning for the Cards, but that was all the offense they could manage against the right-hander. Just as he did last year, Carpenter seems to be heating up after an ice-cold start, slashing .316/.422/.632 with four homers and nine RBI in his last 12 games.

  • Franmil Reyes DH | WAS

Padres' Franmil Reyes: Blasts two more home runs

Reyes went 2-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs in a loss to Philadelphia on Tuesday.

After striking out twice in his first three at-bats, Reyes connected on solo shots in the sixth and eighth innings to bring his season homer total to 19, good for fourth in the league. Though his .251 batting average has plenty of room for improvement, Reyes is proving to be one of the premier young power hitters in baseball in only his second season in the majors.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Rehab assignment likely on tap

Blackmon (calf) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment as early as Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Blackmon participated in batting practice prior to Tuesday's game against the Cubs and appears on track to head out to a minor-league affiliate in the near future, if not Wednesday. The 32-year-old has only been on the injured list since May 24 with the calf issue, so he shouldn't require a lengthy rehab assignment.
