    Dodgers' Justin Turner: Resting Monday

Turner is not starting Monday against the Rockies, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Turner owns an excellent 1.139 OPS with nine homers over his last 18 games. He could be a candidate for fairly frequent rest days down the stretch with the Dodgers holding an 18-game division lead. Matt Beaty will be the third baseman Monday.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Sitting out Monday

Carpenter is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants.

Carpenter will get a breather after starting at third base in both ends of Sunday's doubleheader with the Reds. He went hitless with four strikeouts in seven at-bats between the two contests, dropping his season-long average to .215. Tommy Edman will cover the hot corner in Monday's series opener while Carpenter rests.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Phillies' Brad Miller: Blasts solo homer

Miller went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Mets.

Miller got the Phillies on the board with a long ball to left field in the second inning. The multi-hit game was his first in over two months and marked a positive start to September after Miller hit just .149 (7-for-47) in June and July. He is slashing .233/.331/.476 with six homers and 15 RBI in 118 plate appearances between Cleveland and Philadelphia this season.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Crushes go-ahead homer

Pederson hit a solo pinch-hit homer in Sunday's 4-3 win over Arizona.

Pederson came in to pinch hit in the 11th inning and smashed a 454-foot blast to put the Dodgers ahead. It was his 28th homer with 59 RBI on the year.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Cardinals' Marcell Ozuna: Heads to bench

Ozuna is not in the Cardinals' starting lineup for Game 2 of their doubleheader Sunday.

Ozuna struggled in the first game Sunday, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout. He has played in every game for the Cardinals since returning from the injured list Aug. 3, hitting .283 at the plate with four home runs and 15 RBI. He will get a much-deserved rest Sunday night and figures to be back in the lineup Monday at home against the Giants. Tyler O'Neill is starting in left field in his place and hitting fourth.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Remains on bench

Pederson is not in the lineup for Sunday's game at Arizona, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Pederson will sit for the second straight contest with southpaw Alex Young taking the mound for the Diamondbacks. Enrique Hernandez will start in left field and bat fifth Sunday.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Sitting versus lefty

Dickerson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against San Diego, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Dickerson finds himself on the bench for the second straight contest with southpaw Eric Lauer taking the mound for the Friars. Joey Rickard will start in left field and bat fifth.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: On bench versus lefty

Belt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Padres, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Belt heads to the bench with southpaw Eric Lauer on the mound for San Diego after starting the last 15 contests. The 31-year-old looked more comfortable in that stretch with an .897 OPS, four home runs and 14 RBI. The newly recalled Aramis Garcia will start at first base in his absence.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Homers again in loss

Turner went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Arizona on Saturday.

Turner got the Dodgers on the board with a 408-foot blast to left center field in the third inning. The 34-year-old has been one of the hottest hitters in the majors since the All-Star break, ranking third in the league with 16 home runs while slashing .301/.375/.656 with a 1.031 OPS in 44 games.

  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Goes deep again

Harper went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a 6-3 loss against the Mets on Saturday.

The 26-year-old extended his hitting streak to eight games, and yet, he's still seen little movement in his average over the last week because Saturday was just his second multi-hit game of the streak. However, Harper does have five homers in his last 11 games too, putting him one shy of a second straight 30-homer season. He is batting .257 with 29 home runs, 97 RBI, 84 runs and nine steals in 483 at-bats this season.
