American League reserves revealed for All-Star Game
On Sunday, Major League Baseball revealed the American League reserves for the 2014 All-Star Game, which will be held on July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
The following players were selected as reserves:

American League starters revealed for All-Star Game
On Sunday, Major League Baseball revealed the American League starting lineup for the 2014 All-Star Game, which will be held on July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis. Orioles catcher Matt Wieters was voted as a starter, but Royals catcher Salvador Perez will take his place behind the plate for the game. Other injured players will likely be replaced on the roster moving forward.

Christian Colon picks up three hits Friday
Royals infielder Christian Colon picked up three hits Friday against the Indians.
Colon was an extra-base machine during the outing. After tripling in his first at-bat, Colon doubled his second time up. In his final at-bat, Colon belted another double. He finished 3 for 4, with three runs scored and one RBI.

J.D. Martinez one homer shy of career-high
Tigers outfielder J.D. Martinez continued his hot -hitting ways Tuesday, in a 3-0 win over the Athletics.
Martinez provided some insurance runs for Rick Porcello's complete-game shutout, with his sixth-inning two-run home run. He went 2 for 4 overall in the game, adding a double and a run scored in the win.
Martinez now has 10 home runs in just 145 at-bats, just one shy of his career-high set in 395 at-bats in 2012. He is hitting .317/.354/.628 since he was called up to join the Tigers.

Yoenis Cespedes says hamstring injury is minor
Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, who was unable to start Tuesday because of a hamstring injury, said he could have started, if needed. He said he's dealing with hamstring tightness and doesn't believe the injury is serious.
"I'm ready," Cespedes said, per the San Francisco Chronicle.

Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (hamstring) and catcher Derek Norris (back) were unable to start Tuesday at Detroit. Norris missed a fourth straight start, while Cespedes sat out for the first time since getting hurt Monday.

Brad Miller caps June with fourth HR in last 13 games
Mariners shortstop Brad Miller continued his recent surge with a solo home run during a 10-4 win Monday at Houston. It was Miller's fourth home run in his last 13 games.
Miller hit .349 (15 for 43) with a .417 on-base percentage, .628 slugging percentage and 1.045 OPS over his last 13 starts in June. For the month, he hit .298 with a .355 on-base percentage, .512 slugging percentage, .867 OPS, five home runs, 12 RBI and 15 runs in 26 games.

Miguel Cabrera knocks 14th home run Monday
Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera went 2 for 4 with a solo home run in his team's 5-4 win over the A's Monday.
Cabrera tied the game at 1-1 with his sixth-inning blast before things got crazy in the final two innings, with the game ultimately ending on a walkoff grand slam. The slugger has hit .314/.366/.546 with 14 home runs and 65 RBI in 306 at-bats.

Yoenis Cespedes exits game Monday with hamstring injury
Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes was removed from Monday's game against the Tigers due to a hamstring injury, MLB.com reports.
The team won't know whether the injury is just a cramp or a hamstring strain until tomorrow, but the outfielder is unlikely to play in Tuesday's game. He was 1 for 3 with two runs before exiting Monday's game. Cespedes has hit .273/.326/.497 with 14 home runs and 55 RBI in 308 at-bats.

Royals promote 2010 first-round pick Christian Colon
The Royals announced Monday they promoted prospect Christian Colon from Triple-A Omaha. Colon, who will wear No. 24, will be in uniform Monday against the Twins.
Colon, who was the fourth overall pick in the 2010 MLB draft, hit .296 with a .360 on-base percentage, .384 slugging percentage and .744 OPS in 74 games for Omaha. He had four home runs, 14 doubles, 37 RBI and 14 stolen bases.
