Ohtani is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The Angels appear set to continue their plan of resting Ohtani both before and after his scheduled starts. They deviated from that plan Monday, as Ohtani served as the designated hitter that day despite starting the day before, though that exception was likely due to the fact that his start was very abbreviated as he faced just six batters without recording a single out. Albert Pujols will rest his legs as the designated hitter Saturday, with Matt Thaiss starting at first base.

Lewis went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored during Friday's victory over the A's.

Another night, another set of hits for the 25-year-old, who singled and scored in the fourth inning, then added an RBI single in the fifth. Lewis has hit safely in all eight games this season, including six straight multi-hit games.

Vogelbach is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

Vogelbach served as the designated hitter for the first two games of the season and went 0-for-7 with a walk, but he's started only one of the past five games. Tim Lopes will bat second as the designated hitter Friday.

Choi (shoulder) is starting at first base and batting leadoff Friday against the Orioles, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

The 29-year-old was out of the lineup the past two days with right shoulder soreness, though he did collect an RBI single off the bench Thursday. Choi is 3-for-16 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and four RBI in six games this season.

Stanton went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI against Baltimore on Thursday.

The slugger drove in the first run of the game with a single to left field in the first inning and subsequently came around to score on a Luke Voit grand slam. Stanton is off to a fast start this season, slashing .500/.600/1.000 with a pair of homers and six RBI through five games. He has also walked as many times as he has struck out (four).

Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Thursday's loss to Kansas City.

Cabrera entered the contest hitting a paltry .091 (2-for-22), but he turned back the clock with a vintage two-homer performance Thursday. His first long ball put Detroit on the board in the first inning, and his second wrapped up the scoring in eighth. The veteran has only four hits on the season, but three of those have left the yard.

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a stolen base in Thursday's 8-5 loss to the Mariners.

Ohtani reached on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning, then promptly stole second, his first stolen base of the season. In the ninth, Ohtani cut the Mariners' lead to three runs with his homer off Dan Altavilla, but that was where the Angels' offense stopped. The 26-year-old two-way star has collected two homers and seven RBI in five games as a batter this season.

Ohtani went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Mariners.

Ohtani has struggled both on the mound and at the plate to begin the campaign, but he provided reason for optimism with a 402-foot, three-run blast in the fourth inning. He has three hits and six strikeouts through his first 19 at-bats.

Choi (shoulder) is not starting Thursday against the Braves, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Choi will stick on the bench for a second straight game as he continues to nurse a sore right shoulder. Per Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network, the first baseman reportedly "feels great" and will be available off the bench if needed. In his place, Mike Brosseau is starting at first base and hitting sixth.

Lewis went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 10-7 win over the Angels.

Lewis has undoubtedly been Seattle's best player in the first week of action, as he has hit safely in every single game while posting multi-hit efforts in each of his last four contests. As a result, he is slashing a robust .458/.519/.708 in his first 27 plate appearances.
