Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Receives Sunday off

Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Rangers' Mitch Garver: Out of Sunday's lineup

Garver is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Garver started the past two games and will take a seat after he went 2-for-8 with a walk and an RBI. Jonah Heim is working behind the plate while Adolis Garcia serves as the designated hitter.

  • Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Hits bench Sunday

Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Alvarez started the first two games of the series in Philadelphia and will take a seat for the finale after going 0-for-6 with a walk and two strikeouts. Omar Narvaez will step in behind the plate to catch for Carlos Carrasco.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Returns to bench

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

The 34-year-old started the past five games with Sean Murphy (hamstring) banged up and went 6-for-10 with two homers the past two days, but Murphy will rejoin the lineup for Sunday's series finale in Cincinnati. D'Arnaud has an .839 OPS this year but will now revert back to a secondary role since Murphy is healthy.

  • Jake Rogers C | DET

    Tigers' Jake Rogers: Starting Sunday

Rogers is starting at catcher and batting eighth in Sunday's game against the Twins.

Rogers will return to the lineup after sitting Saturday, with Eric Haase heading back to the bench. The two have alternated starts behind the plate fairly evenly all season. This will be the 41st start at catcher for Rogers, while Haase has started 35 times at the position. Rogers is batting only .178, though he has managed nine home runs in 129 at-bats, making him a boom-or-bust option.

  • Eric Haase C | SF

Tigers' Eric Haase: Takes seat Sunday

Haase is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Haase went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored Saturday, but he'll alternate at catcher with Jake Rogers, who slides into the lineup for the series finale. Haase can play in the outfield when he's not behind the plate, though he's started only once in the outfield this month.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Braves' Sean Murphy: Rejoins lineup Sunday

Murphy (hamstring) is starting behind the plate and batting fifth Sunday against the Reds.

Murphy will return to the starting nine Sunday in Cincinnati after sitting out the past five games with a hamstring issue. The 28-year-old has a .286/.318/.452 slash line through 42 at-bats in June and a .915 OPS on the season.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Receives Sunday off

Rutschman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Rutschman will take a seat while in the midst of an 0-for-14 slump, which ends a streak of 10 straight starts. Anthony Bemboom will step in behind the plate to catch Sunday for Kyle Bradish.

  • Yan Gomes C | CHC

Cubs' Yan Gomes: Receives Sunday off

Gomes is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals in London, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Gomes went 2-for-4 in Saturday's contest and will take a seat after starting the past two games behind the plate. Tucker Barnhart will step in to catch for Marcus Stroman on Sunday.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Slugs homer No. 10

Jansen went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 7-3 win over the A's.

The backstop took Hogan Harris deep in the third inning, giving Jansen four homers in his last eight games and 10 on the year. He's batting .286 (8-for-28) over that stretch with a .786 SLG, adding two doubles, five runs and six RBI into the mix, and with Alejandro Kirk (hand) sidelined at least until the end of the month, Jansen should continue seeing a full-time workload for the Jays.
