  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Homers in loss

Realmuto went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double in Sunday's 11-2 loss to San Francisco.

Realmuto did his best to carry the Phillies' offense Sunday, driving in the team's only two runs and collecting three of their four hits in the loss. It was his third homer of the month and first since June 8. The star catcher has seven home runs this season with 29 RBI and an .888 OPS.

  • Blue Jays' Reese McGuire: Logs three doubles Sunday

McGuire went 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, two RBI and a strikeout in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Orioles.

McGuire went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts Saturday, but he had little trouble reaching base in his first four-hit performance of the season Sunday. Across his last seven games, the 26-year-old has hit .421 with a home run, five doubles, five runs, four RBI, a walk and six strikeouts.

  • Braves' William Contreras: Not starting Game 2

Contreras isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Contreras was behind the dish during the first game in the twin bill, and he went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout. Kevan Smith will start at catcher and bat eighth in the nightcap.

  • Red Sox's Kevin Plawecki: Leaves with hamstring tightness

Plawecki was removed from Sunday's game against the Royals with left hamstring tightness, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

The 30-year-old went 0-for-1 before being replaced by a pinch hitter during the fourth inning. The severity of the injury remains unclear, but Plawecki could be headed for the injured list if he's forced to miss more than a day or two, since the Red Sox are unlikely to play for long without a viable backup to starting catcher Christian Vazquez.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

    Dodgers' Will Smith: Resting Sunday

Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Smith will get a breather for the series finale after he caught both of the past two games for the Dodgers and went 3-for-8 with a home run, double and walk between the contests. Austin Barnes will be behind the dish Sunday.

  • Elias Diaz C | TEX

    Rockies' Elias Diaz: Sitting Sunday

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Diaz will give way to Dom Nunez in the series finale, but the former seems to be benefiting from the larger share of playing time at catcher lately. Before sitting Sunday, Diaz started behind the plate in four of the Rockies' last six games.

  • Jonah Heim C | ATH

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Sits in series finale

Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Jose Trevino will be behind the plate for Texas in the series finale, but Heim seems to have emerged as the Rangers' favored backstop of late. Heim started at catcher in four of the Rangers' previous six games, going 6-for-15 with a home run, a double, a walk, three runs and two RBI.

  • Tom Murphy C | SF

Mariners' Tom Murphy: Day off Sunday

Murphy is out of the lineup Sunday against Tampa Bay.

Murphy is 3-for-19 with five walks and eight strikeouts over his past six games and will receive the day off for the series finale. Luis Torrens will work behind the plate in his place.

  • Eric Haase C | CHW

Tigers' Eric Haase: Receives breather Sunday

Haase is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Haase started the past three games and will take a seat Sunday after going 0-for-11 with an RBI and five strikeouts. Jake Rogers will start behind the plate in his place.

  • Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Day off Sunday

Vazquez is out of the lineup Sunday at Kansas City, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Vazquez went 3-for-8 with a double and two strikeouts through the first two games of the series and will receive a breather in the finale. Kevin Plawecki will start behind the plate and bat ninth in his place.
