Tromp was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Tromp will join the big-league roster Thursday to provide catching depth while Buster Posey (knee) is banged up. It's not believed to be a serious issue for Posey, so it may be a brief stay in the majors for Tromp.

Nido (thumb) could be ready to return from the 10-day injured list as soon as Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Nido's sprained left thumb resulted in him landing on the IL on Aug. 16, but a recent cortisone shot appears to have alleviated most of the pain he was experiencing. The Mets will likely re-evaluate Nido early Friday before determining whether to send him out on a rehab assignment. With No. 1 catcher James McCann (back) further behind in his recovery from injury, Nido could enjoy a brief run as the Mets' top backstop once activated.

Garver isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Boston.

The 30-year-old will be on the bench for the fifth time in the last seven games as Ryan Jeffers will start behind the plate and bat seventh. Across his last seven appearances, Garver has gone 8-for-20 with three doubles, three runs and an RBI.

Jackson isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Jackson has crossed the plate four times in his last five appearances, but he'll be out of the lineup for the third time in the last four games. Jorge Alfaro will start behind the plate and bat sixth.

Adams isn't starting Thursday's game against Miami.

Adams has recorded hits in each of his last six appearances, but he continues to alternate starts behind the dish. Tres Barrera will start at catcher and bat eighth.

Stallings isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

Stallings drew starts in each of the last three games and went 3-for-10 with a double, two RBI and a walk. Michael Perez will take over behind the dish and bat eighth.

Casali has gone 6-for-26 (.231) with a home run and two doubles through nine games in August.

Casali sees a regular work pattern, typically starting behind the dish roughly once every three games. He went 0-for-3 Wednesday versus the Mets with Buster Posey sidelined by knee discomfort, although the latter had started four games in a row (once as the designated hitter in Oakland) and likely would have sat out that contest anyway. Should Posey need more time off, Casali could get a short-term bump in playing time, but he's hit to a mediocre .219/.321/.388 slash line with five homers, 23 RBI, 18 runs scored and 10 doubles in 185 plate appearances.

Barnhart will sit Thursday against the Brewers.

Barnhart hits the bench after starting seven of the last 10 games behind the plate. Tyler Stephenson takes over in his absence.

Stassi isn't starting Thursday against the Orioles.

Stassi recorded extra-base hits in each of his last two appearances, and he went 3-for-8 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI during that time. He'll get a breather while Kurt Suzuki starts behind the plate and bats fifth.

Hedges went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Rangers.

He launched one of Cleveland's three solo shots off Jake Latz in the Texas southpaw's big-league debut. Hedges has started 12 of 19 games since Roberto Perez (shoulder) got hurt but has been his usual unproductive self during that time with a .225/.273/.375 slash line, and Wednesday's homer was his first in August and only his sixth of the season.
