Farmer was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

With Yasmani Grandal serving as the Dodgers' primary catcher, it's unlikely that Farmer will see consistent time behind the dish. He's been effective when called upon in the Show this season, although his usage has been very limited. Over 10 games, Farmer has logged just 10 at-bats, over which he's picked up four hits.

Robinson went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts in Tuesday's 10-1 loss to the Angels.

Robinson drew the start in left field, effectively entering the lineup in place of Joey Gallo (concussion), who was placed on the 7-day disabled list Tuesday. While Gallo is sidelined, it's expected that Robinson and Ryan Rua will be the main beneficiaries of increased at-bats, but Robinson should be the favored option of the two. In addition to batting from the left side, Robinson is the most versatile player on the roster, having made starts at four different positions this season.

Machado went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Monday's loss to Oakland.

Fresh off his AL Player of the Week honors, Machado crushed his 27th homer of the year in the sixth inning off Simon Castro. The third baseman is slashing a blistering .341/.492/.810 with nine homers and 30 RBI this month.

Arenado went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Royals.

His sixth-inning shot off Danny Duffy not only gave the Rockies their only runs on the night, it ended a no-hit bid by the lefty. With 28 homers on the year, Arenado will need a big finish to 2017 to record his third straight 40-HR campaign, but his 107 RBI and .963 OPS put him on pace for career highs in both categories.

Suarez went 3-for-5 with a pair of homers, five RBI and three runs against the Cubs on Tuesday.

He's now up to 23 long balls, snapping a tie with last season's previous personal best of 21. Suarez has also hit safely in 12 of the last 13 games (and drew three walks in the other one), a stretch in which he's hit .405/.559/.857 on the strength of five homers and 14 bases on balls. The 26-year-old is truly coming into his own at the plate, with his much-improved on-base ability a major part of the equation.

Moncada went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Twins.

He also struck out, however, marking his 10th straight game with at least one whiff -- a stretch during which he's hitting only .179 (7-for-39) with a 5:20 BB:K. Until Moncada learns to make more consistent contact, it will be difficult for him to play up to his potential.

Plouffe was designated for assignment Tuesday.

Plouffe receives the news of his designation for assignment after getting off to a 3-for-17 start at the plate during the month of August. The 31-year-old is hitting just .204 on the season and will likely report to Triple-A Durham if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Donaldson is starting at shortstop and hitting second Tuesday against the Rays.

The Blue Jays will indeed continue to give Donaldson starts at shortstop, despite the fact that they are no longer playing in a National League ballpark. It may depend on league parameters, but at this rate, Donaldson has a chance to qualify at shortstop and third base next season. He is hitting .265/.393/.526 with 20 home runs in 81 games this season.

Kieboom (hamstring) is back in action for Low-A Hagerstown.

He is hitting .309/.386/.551 with seven home runs and two steals in 136 at-bats in the South Atlantic League this year. Eric Longenhagen of FanGraphs said he had a scouting source compare Kieboom to Troy Tulowitzki. Look for the offseason hype to build steadily with the young shortstop, despite the fact that the hamstring injury limited him to less than 50 games against full-season pitching.

Manager John Gibbons slyly suggested that he'll continue deploying Donaldson at shortstop routinely through the end of the season, Richard Griffin of The Toronto Star reports.

Shifting the slugger up the middle, and moving Jose Bautista to third base, gives Gibbons a chance to bolster his offense through the outfield. Donaldson has played three games at short thus far, and the Jays have 38 games remaining on the schedule. Judging by the sound of it, the third baseman should be able to gain eligibility at shortstop in the near future. Even more exciting is the prospect of Donaldson logging enough time this year to enter 2018 with that same flexibility.
