Petit cleared waivers Thursday and accepted his assignment to Triple-A Rochester.

As expected, Petit will report to the Red Wings after passing through waivers unclaimed. Barring any injuries to the big-league club, the 33-year-old will likely spend the rest of the year in the minors with Jorge Polanco on the cusp of returning from suspension. Petit owns a .293/.323/.362 line across 17 games with Rochester this season.

Andrus (elbow) went hitless in three at-bats for Double-A Frisco on Wednesday and is expected to remain on his rehab assignment through the weekend, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Andrus played seven innings at shortstop Wednesday, the second time in three rehab games he's played in the field. He's been out since April 11, so the Rangers are giving him a week's worth of at-bats to get his timing down. He's gone 1-for-10 with one strikeout over his three games with the RoughRiders.

Fontana went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-6 loss to the Mariners.

He entered the game for Zack Cozart (shoulder) in the fourth inning and stroked his first homer of the season. Fontana only has two big-league hits in 31 career plate appearances, but both of them have left the yard. If Cozart's injury proves to be serious, Fontana could find himself in a platoon with David Fletcher at shortstop until Andrelton Simmons (ankle) is healthy.

Rodriguez was called up from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

Rodriguez played in seven games for the Tigers near the start of the month, going 2-for-19 with one RBI and six strikeouts during his first taste of the big leagues. The 26-year-old will serve as a backup infielder for the time being, and it's unlikely that Rodriguez will pop up on the mixed-league radar. In a corresponding move, the Tigers placed Miguel Cabrera (biceps) on the 10-day DL.

Andrus (elbow) went 1-for-4 with a run scored while serving as the designated hitter for seven innings in his rehab appearance Tuesday at Double-A Frisco.

Andrus started at shortstop for Frisco a day earlier, going 0-for-3 in his first rehab game while playing five innings in the field. Since the 29-year-old has been sidelined since April 11 with a fractured right elbow, he'll likely need to pick up some more at-bats and play a full nine-inning game at shortstop before coming off the 60-day disabled list. It seems likely that Andrus will be reinstated by some point early next week, making him a worthy stash for the time being in leagues where he may have been dropped.

Marte went 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Marte was productive in all four plate appearances, notching a triple, single, walk and sacrifice fly. The 24-year-old got off to a slow start, but he's now hitting .400 in June and has been even hotter of late. In the last three games, Marte's 6-for-11 with three extra-base hits, a steal and six RBI.

Albies went 1-for-5 with a grand slam in Tuesday's win over the Mets.

Albies entered the month of June with a .278 average but has seen that figure tumble to .255 as he's now gone 6-for-45 (.133) over his last 10 games. Tuesday marked his first multi-RBI performance since May 19, but due to his strong start, the second baseman has now tallied 40 RBI on the season, good for the fourth-most among second basemen.

Lux exited Tuesday's game with High-A Rancho Cucamonga with an apparent hamstring injury.

Lux suffered the injury on a hard slide into second base during the fifth inning and attempted to remain in the game. The 20-year-old was removed when the Quakes took the field in the bottom of the frame, and the severity of the injury is currently unknown.

Forsythe is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Despite going 2-for-4 with a homer in Sunday's win over the Braves, Forsythe will retreat to the bench for Tuesday's series opener against the Rangers. Max Muncy will start at second base and hit second in his stead.

Petit was designated for assignment by Minnesota.

He'll likely accept an assignment to Triple-A Rochester as it's unlikely another team will claim him. Petit provided a decent stopgap (hitting .308 in 26 AB) as a utility infielder while Miguel Sano was on the DL, but he isn't needed any longer. He may spend the rest of the season in the minors with Jorge Polanco nearing a return from an 80-game suspension.
