  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Gets Thursday off

Cronenworth is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Robinson Cano will draw the start at second base while Cronenworth heads to the bench for the first time after he had been included in the lineup in each of the Padres' first 37 games of the season. The day off comes while Cronenworth has endured a rough patch at the plate over the past six contests; during that stretch, he's gone 4-for-28 while striking out in 39.3 percent of his plate appearances.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

    Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Continues mashing

Calhoun went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Angels.

Calhoun is the hottest hitter in the Rangers' lineup right now. The homer, his second in as many games, gives him four over the last four contests. He extended an RBI streak to five games, during which he's driven in eight. Since May 4, Calhoun is slashing .385/.457/.872 with eight extra-base hits, 12 RBI and eight runs scored.

  • Nate Lowe DH | CIN

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Walks off Angels

Lowe went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Angels.

It didn't take long for Lowe to end matters in the 10th inning. He swatted the first pitch he saw from Raisel Iglesias over the fence, scoring the designated runner ahead of him to secure the walkoff win for Texas. It was Lowe's second homer of the season and first in 20 games. The first baseman is slugging .315 with an .079 ISO.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Slugs seventh homer

Hoskins went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Padres.

After coming home on a J.T. Realmuto single in the first inning, Hoskins took Blake Snell deep in the third, giving Zack Wheeler and the Phillies' bullpen all the support they would need. The first baseman has hit safely in nine of the last 10 games, slashing .326/.356/.698 over that stretch with five of his seven homers on the year and 11 of his 20 RBI.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Blasts ninth long ball

Alonso went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 11-4 victory versus the Cardinals.

Alonso gave the Mets a 3-2 lead with a run-scoring single in the fifth inning, and he homered with two runners aboard to break the game open in the eighth. The first baseman had knocked in only one run across his previous six games, but the big performance Wednesday moved him back into a tie for first in the league with 33 RBI on the campaign. Alonso also has nine homers and a .264/.339/.486 slash line over 168 plate appearances.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Continues standout campaign

France went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 5-1 win over Toronto.

Seattle was clinging to a one-run lead when France crushed a ball 426 feet to center field in the seventh inning to provide two runs. The hit was the third of the night for the infielder, who has notched five multi-hit efforts across his past eight games. France is on pace for a career-best campaign with a .325/.398/.477 slash line, six homers and 27 RBI through 171 plate appearances.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Blasts 10th homer

Cron went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Giants.

Cron took Jose Alvarez yard in the eighth inning for what ultimately amounted to be the game-winning runs. It was his 10th home run of the season, and Cron now has six RBI and eight runs scored across six games in the team's current homestand. Overall, Cron has an impressive .417 wOBA and 157 wRC+ across 156 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Keston Hiura 2B | LAD

Brewers' Keston Hiura: Swats walkoff homer in return

Hiura went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over Atlanta.

Called up from Triple-A Nashville earlier in the day when Willy Adames (ankle) landed on the injured list, Hiura got to play hero for the Brewers by launching a game-winning homer off Jesse Chavez in the bottom of the 11th inning. Hiura had been on fire at Nashville, going 8-for-19 (.421) in five games with three home runs, and the 25-year-old was able to carry that momentum forward for at least one game with Milwaukee.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Provides offense Wednesday

Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Rays.

Torkelson was the only Detroit player with multiple hits and the only one to cross the plate as well. The rookie is still batting just .173, but at least he's continuing to see regular playing time, as the 13-25 Tigers look to be in a rebuilding campaign. As long as Torkelson stays in the lineup most days, fantasy managers should keep an eye on him, as the talent is there for a breakout at any point.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Could return Friday

Manager Terry Francona said Wednesday that he's hopeful Naylor (illness) will be able to return to the lineup Friday against the Tigers, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

The Guardians have a scheduled day off following Wednesday's series finale against the Reds, and Francona is hopeful that Naylor will be able to return to action for Friday's series opener against Detroit after spending a week on the COVID-19 injured list. The 24-year-old was off to a hot start to the season prior to his absence, as he hit .347 with five homers, four doubles, 22 RBI and 10 runs over 20 games.
