Indians' Nelson Rodriguez: Struggling big time at Triple-A
Rodriguez went 0-for-12 over his last four games for Triple-A Columbus prior to the All-Star break and has not had consecutive games with a hit since early June, Branson Wright of The Plain Dealer reports.
The 23-year-old is enduring a rough ride in his first rodeo at Triple-A. Rodriguez is slashing just .134/.235/.303 through his first 73 games, while amassing a monstrous 42.1 percent strikeout rate.

Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW
Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Activated off DL
Dalbec (wrist) has been activated and played the last two games for Low-A Greenville. He went 1-for-8 with a double over the two games.
Dalbec had been sidelined since May 10 with a broken hamate bone. Those wrist injuries can sap a hitter's power, which is an important piece of Dalbec's game. The 2016 fourth-round pick slugged .674 over 132 at-bats at short-season Lowell last season.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Indians' Carlos Santana: Hits two doubles in return
Santana went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, an RBI, one run and a walk in Saturday's victory over Detroit.
Making his return from the paternity list, Santana picked up where he left off. The first baseman has now logged multi-hit performances in four of his last five games, knocking out five doubles and six RBI while raising his average to .237, its highest point since May 8.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Indians' Carlos Santana: Hitting seventh Saturday
Santana is hitting seventh and starting at first base Saturday against the Tigers.
He was activated from the paternity list earlier in the day, just in time to face Justin Verlander in the penultimate game of the first half. Santana is hitting .233 with eight home runs in 73 career at-bats against Verlander.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Indians' Carlos Santana: Activated from paternity list
Santana was activated from the paternity list in advance of Saturday's game against the Tigers.
After missing the last three games to attend to the birth of his child, Santana will presumably slot back in against righty Justin Verlander. Shawn Armstrong was optioned to Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Setting pace in Carolina League
Mountcastle became the first player in the Carolina League to reach 30 doubles in High-A Frederick's win on Friday, Steve Melewski of MASN Sports reports.
Baltimore's first-round pick in 2015 is now slashing .307/.333/.541 through 80 games with the Keys. It won't be long before the shortstop makes the jump to MiLB's higher levels.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yulieski Gurriel: Out of lineup Friday
Gurriel is not in Friday's lineup against the Blue Jays, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Gurriel will get the day off following six straight starts. In that span, he has gone 11-for-26 with two home runs and 10 RBI at the plate, including four multi-hit games. Marwin Gonzalez draws the start at first in his stead.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Indians' Carlos Santana: Remains away from team
Santana remains away from the team while on paternity leave for Friday's game.
This will mark the third and final game that Santana will be out of the lineup, since a player can only spend three days on the paternity list. In his place, Edwin Encarnacion will man first base while Abraham Almonte takes over the designated hitting duties against the Tigers.

C.J. Cron 1B | BOS
Angels' C.J. Cron: Recalled from Salt Lake
Cron was called up by the Angels on Friday.
Cron has spent 34 games with the Angels this season, hitting .212/.266/.297 with two home runs and 14 RBI. The 31-year-old went just 6-for-35 during his time with Triple-A Salt Lake over the last 10 games, but will provide additional depth to the big-league roster behind Luis Valbuena at first base. Cron could see a few starts in the near future when left-handers take the mound, especially with Valbuena's struggles continuing at the plate.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Angels' Kole Calhoun: Homers again Wednesday
Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Twins.
The 29-year-old has now homered in two straight games and collected multiple hits in three straight. After seeing his batting average bottom out at .205 at the end of May, Calhoun has regained his swagger at the plate, slashing .318/.384/.508 with seven homers, three steals, 21 runs and 25 RBI in 35 games.
