  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Bushel of two-baggers in win

Gurriel went 3-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI in Saturday's 6-0 win over the A's.

While the 34-year-old is still looking for his first home run in 2019, he's had no problem putting a charge in the ball -- five of his 10 hits so far have been two-baggers, leading to a .303/.361/.455 slash line. Gurriel's fantasy ceiling is limited due to his lack of true over-the-fence power, but he still offers solid value in deeper formats.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Exits with knee bruise

Calhoun left Saturday's game against the Rangers with a right knee contusion, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Calhoun went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and collided with the outfield wall earlier in the game, though the injury appears minor. Manager Brad Ausmus said the 31-year-old is considered day-to-day and could still be in the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Blasts third homer

Abreu went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 9-2 loss to Seattle on Saturday.

Abreu got the White Sox on the board in the fourth inning by clubbing a homer to left field. The 32-year-old first baseman is now 8-for-29 with three home runs and eight RBI in the young season.

  • Justin Bour 1B | SF

Angels' Justin Bour: Heads to bench

Bour is not in the lineup Saturday against the Rangers.

Bour sits for just the second time this season. Jonathan Lucroy will rest his legs as the designated hitter, pushing Albert Pujols out to first base.

  • Rangers' Asdrubal Cabrera: Sits for first time

Cabrera will hit the bench for the first time Saturday against the Angels.

Cabrera is hitting .241 with three homers through eight games. Logan Forsythe will get the start at third base in his absence.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Sits against southpaw

O'Hearn will be on the bench Saturday against the Tigers, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic reports.

O'Hearn will head to the bench against left-hander Matt Moore. Frank Schwindel will start at first base in his place.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Indians' Carlos Santana: Plays hero with walkoff shot

Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays.

His first homer of the year was a big one -- a walkoff shot with one out in the ninth inning. Santana's now hitting .417 (10-for-24) with five runs and six RBI through seven games to kick off 2019.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Hits two-run bomb

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 5-2 victory over the Giants on Friday.

The 27-year-old only had one home run in 120 plate appearances with the Indians last season, so the fact he has two homers already is a bit surprising. Diaz did showcase some pop, hitting a pair of bombs with nine RBI in 49 at-bats during spring training, but the expectation is still that average and on-base percentage will be Diaz' best assets for fantasy owners. He is 9-for-25 (.360) with five extra-base hits, three RBI and six runs in seven games this season.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Collects hit to begin rehab stint

Guerrero (oblique) got the start at third base and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in High-A Dunedin's season opener Thursday.

And we're off. The top prospect in baseball doesn't have a clear timetable yet for how long he'll be spending in the Florida State League before a bump up to Triple-A Buffalo, and then eventually the big-league roster, but if he avoids aggravating his oblique strain, Guerrero's stay in the minors will likely only last until he shows he has his timing down at the plate. The first date to keep an eye on could be April 12, when the Jays begin a three-game series at home against the Rays.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Back in action

Diaz (ankle) is back in the lineup Friday against the Giants.

Diaz left Tuesday's game with a minor ankle injury and sat out Wednesday, but he's back after missing just one game. He has a hit in each of his six games so far this season.
