Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Indians' Carlos Santana: Clocks three-run homer
Santana went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 9-6 loss to Kansas City.
Santana got Cleveland rolling early with his first-inning long ball but the team cooled off in a hurry after. It was a good sign after the switch-hitting slugger had been missing from the lineup for two games with some shoulder soreness. The 33-year-old is up to 22 home runs with 57 RBI and a career-high .926 OPS.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Indians' Carlos Santana: Back in action Sunday
Santana (shoulder) will start at designated hitter and will bat third Sunday against the Royals.
Santana was withheld from action the previous two days due to left shoulder soreness, but the brief layoff was apparently all the veteran needed to overcome the issue. Since taking part in the Home Run Derby during the All-Star week festivities, Santana has gone just 10-for-52 (.192 average) with two long balls in 14 games.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Receives breather
Abreu is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
AJ Reed will fill in for Abreu at first base in what amounts to a breather for the 32-year-old, according to Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald. Abreu had started each of the White Sox's first 102 games of the season, but the mounting workload has seemed to wear on him lately. Since the All-Star break, Abreu has reached base at a .235 clip while providing only two extra-base hits in 16 games.

Mariners' Ryan Court: Collects three RBI in first start

Indians' Carlos Santana: Sitting again Saturday
Santana (shoulder) is not in the lineup Saturday against the Royals, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Santana was scratched from Friday's lineup due to left shoulder soreness and still isn't 100 percent. He'll sit for a second straight game as Jake Bauers picks up another start at first base in his stead.

Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT
Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Back in majors
O'Hearn was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday and is starting at first base and hitting fifth against the Indians.
O'Hearn earned his way back to the big club by posting a .295/.383/.597 slash line with nine homers and 28 RBI in 35 games for Omaha following his demotion in mid-June. The 26-year-old will take the roster spot of Lucas Duda, who was designated for assignment Saturday. In 56 games with the Royals this year, O'Hearn is slashing .188/.286/.333 with six home runs and 18 RBI.

Nate Lowe 1B | CIN
Rays' Nate Lowe: Out against lefty
Lowe is not in Saturday's lineup against the Blue Jays.
Southpaw Ryan Borucki is starting for Toronto, so Lowe heads to the bench. He has not started against a left-handed pitcher since July 13, despite the fact that he slashed .286/.444/.452 in 84 at-bats against southpaws at Triple-A this year. Travis d'Arnaud is starting at first base and hitting cleanup.

Brandon Dixon 1B | SD
Tigers' Brandon Dixon: Clubs 13th homer
Dixon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners.

The first baseman is hitting .259/.294/.482 with 13 homers, 39 RBI and 27 runs scored in 224 at-bats this season. With a strikeout rate of 31.1 percent, Dixon can be a bit of a boom-or-bust hitter, but he's also 9-for-20 in his last six games.

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Sitting Friday
