  • Benge went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Nationals. The rookie outfielder is ending his first big-league season on a tear, recording multiple hits in six of the last 12 games while batting .375 (18-for-48) with three doubles, three homers, seven RBI and 10 runs. Benge has posted a .280/.344/.429 slash line through 590 plate appearances, and along the way became the first Mets rookie in history with a 20-20 season. • Benge went 3-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Saturday's 10-3 win over the Phillies. The 23-year-old outfielder put his name in the franchise record book with the performance, as Benge now has 156 hits on the year -- topping the 155 knocks recorded by Pete Alonso in 2019 for the most ever in a season by a Mets rookie. Benge has cooled off a bit in September, and over 17 games this month he's batting .269 (18-for-67) with three of his 19 homers, and three of his 22 steals.

  • Benge went 2-for-5 with a home run and an additional RBI against the Yankees in a 12-2 victory Saturday. The Mets hit three homers off Gerrit Cole, capped by Benge's solo shot in the third inning. The long ball was the rookie outfielder's first in his past 18 games, a stretch during which he batted just .246 with a 27.0 percent strikeout rate. Benge has experienced the typical ups-and-downs during his first MLB campaign this year, but he's held onto a starting job and has delivered solid numbers, including a .273/.337/.414 slash line, 17 home runs, 19 doubles, three triples, 76 runs, 57 RBI and 22 stolen bases.

  • Mets' Carson Benge: Swats 15th homer
    • By RotoWire

Benge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Padres. The rookie outfielder opened the scoring when he sliced a Michael King sinker just inside the left-field foul pole in the fourth inning, and the Mets never looked back. Benge is up to 15 homers on the year with a .752 OPS, and that's largely been fueled by an impressive August in which he's delivered a .311/.373/.557 slash line with four home runs, nine runs and 10 RBI over 16 games.
