Jawhar Jordan: On practice squad injured list
The Texans placed Jordan on the practice squad injured list Wednesday.
With David Montgomery (groin) sidelined this past Sunday against the Jaguars in London, Jordan was elevated from the practice squad and made his season debut working as the No. 2 RB behind Woody Marks. Jordan took advantage of the opportunity, recording six carries for 43 yards and one touchdown and hauling in his only target for seven yards. Now that he's on the practice squad injured list, though, he must miss at least the next four games, meaning his next chance to suit up is Sunday, Nov. 29, against the Ravens.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Returns to Texans' practice squad
Jordan reverted to Houston's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Jordan played 14 of the Texans' 63 offensive snaps in their 34-31 win over the Jaguars in London in Week 6, taking 6 carries for 43 yards and a touchdown and catching his only target for another seven yards. With regular starter David Montgomery (groin) out, Jordan proved an effective change of pace behind 2025 fourth-rounder Woody Marks. If Montgomery is out again in Week 7 versus the Giants, Jordan could be in line for another significant role come Sunday.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Finds end zone in win over Jags
Jordan rushed six times for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Jaguars. He added one catch for seven yards on one target.
With David Montgomery (groin) out, Jordan was called up from the practice squad for Sunday's game and logged 14 offensive snaps behind Woody Marks' 49 out of the backfield. Jordan's big play was a 25-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter that gave Houston a 31-21 lead. Montgomery is considered week-to-week, so Jordan could again play a significant role behind Marks next Sunday against the Giants.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Elevated from practice squad
The Texans elevated Jordan from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
With David Montgomery (groin) out for Week 6, Jordan will provide depth behind Woody Marks out of Houston's backfield. Jordan was productive as a rookie last season, rushing 43 times for 193 yards (4.5 YPC) while catching all seven of his targets for 34 yards.

Jawhar Jordan: Back with Houston on practice squad
The Texans signed Jordan to their practice squad Monday.
A sixth-round pick in 2024, Jordan has spent his entire three-year career in the Texans organization, despite having been waived on three occasions. He spent most of his first two seasons on the practice squad and didn't make his NFL debut until Week 15 of the 2025 campaign, when he ran for 101 yards on 15 carries and added two receptions for 17 yards in a win over the Cardinals. Jordan received playing time in the remaining three contests of the regular season, churning out 92 yards on 28 carries to go with five catches for 17 yards, but he went unused during the Texans' two-game playoff run. After he was unable to win a spot on the roster coming out of the preseason, Jordan will likely rank as the Texans' top choice to receive a promotion from the practice squad if David Montgomery or Woody Marks miss time at any point in 2026.

Jawhar Jordan: Let go by Texans
Jordan (hip) was waived by the Texans on Sunday.
Jordan pushed past the hip injury that hampered him in camp, but he did not make the final roster. He provided a spark out of the backfield at times late in the 2025 season for the Texans, which could keep him on other teams' radar as a waiver-claim candidate.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Expected back at practice soon
Jordan (hip) is likely to resume practicing next week, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Jordan has been dealing with a strained hip flexor and didn't play at all during the preseason slate. However, the 27-year-old should be good to go for the beginning of the regular season as long as he doesn't experience any setbacks during upcoming practices. Jordan is slated to work as Houston's No. 3 RB this year behind David Montgomery and Woody Marks.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Misses practice Monday
Jordan (hip) did not participate at practice Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Jordan suffered a hip flexor strain at practice in early August, and he still appears to be less than 100 percent. Fellow running back British Brooks (hand) returned to practice Monday after missing three weeks following hand surgery, and the two players are battling to secure a spot on Houston's initial 53-man roster as reserve options behind Woody Marks and David Montgomery.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Sidelined due to hip injury
Jordan is dealing with a hip flexor strain and will be sidelined for "roughly a week," Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Per Wilson, Jordan has been having a good camp, but he'll have to take some time off due to the injury. That likely rules him out of Houston's first preseason game (Thursday, Aug. 13, versus the Chargers), but Jordan could still get a chance to show off his skill set in game action before the start of the regular season. As it currently stands, he's expected to work as the Texans' third running back this season behind David Montgomery and Woody Marks.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Solidifying RB3 case
Texans running backs coach Danny Barrett said Jordan is "playing faster than he was last year" as he competes for the No. 3 running back spot behind David Montgomery and Woody Marks, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Jordan flashed genuine juice in his regular-season debut last season, rushing for 101 yards on 15 carries in a Week 15 matchup against the Cardinals. His 50-yard breakaway in that game was the Texans' longest run of the season. The 26-year-old is competing against undrafted rookies Noah Whittington and Josh Pitsenberger, as well as former Colt and Saint Evan Hull, for a roster spot. British Brooks' special-teams acumen also complicates the backfield math, but improvement in Jordan's speed, third-down work and hands make the 2024 sixth-round pick the early favorite for the No. 3 gig.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Under contract for 2026
Jordan finished the 2025 season with 43 carries for 193 yards over four regular-season games. He added seven catches on seven targets for 34 yards.
Jordan was signed off the practice squad in late in the season when both Woody Marks and Nick Chubb were hobbled by injury. Jordan had an impressive debut in Week 15, when he logged 15 carries for 101 yards in a win over Arizona. Once Marks and Chubb got healthy, Jordan served in a backup role and was inactive for both of Houston's playoff games. He's under contract for 2026, but the Texans are expected to reinforce their backfield during the offseason, so Jordan may not have a path to a regular role.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Inactive Sunday
Jordan (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's divisional-round game against the Patriots.
Jordan, who sat out this past Monday's wild-card win at Pittsburgh due to a high-ankle sprain that he sustained Week 18 against the Colts, had approached the contest without an injury designation, but the running back won't be available versus New England after all. In his continued absence, Woody Marks will continue to lead Houston's backfield Sunday, with Nick Chubb next up for carries.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Set to return Sunday
Jordan (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's divisional-round game in New England.
Jordan sat out Monday's wild-card win at Pittsburgh due to a high-ankle sprain that he sustained Week 18 against the Colts. After opening this week with limited listings Wednesday and Thursday, he returned to a full practice Friday, which was enough for the Texans to clear him ahead of the weekend. Jordan thus will be in the mix for RB reps along with Nick Chubb behind starter Woody Marks on Sunday.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Another limited practice
Jordan (ankle) remained limited at practice Thursday.
Jordan, who also was limited at practice Wednesday, missed this past Monday's wild-card win over the Steelers while dealing with a high-ankle sprain that he sustained Week 18. However, the running back's ability to practice both Wednesday and Thursday, albeit in a limited fashion, offers hope that he could return to action for Sunday's divisional-round contest against the Patriots. Friday's injury report will reveal whether Jordan heads into the weekend with an injury designation or cleared to rejoin a Houston backfield that also includes Nick Chubb and is led by Woody Marks.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Returns to practice Wednesday
Jordan (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Jordan, who is managing a high-ankle sprain that he sustained in Week 18, didn't practice last week before being ruled out for this past Monday's wild-card win over the Steelers. The running back's return to the field Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity, is a step in the right direction ahead of Sunday's divisional-round contest against the Patriots. If Jordan is able to return to action this weekend, he'd be in line to work in a complementary role in a Houston backfield led by Woody Marks, which also includes Nick Chubb.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Not playing Monday
Jordan (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's wild-card game in Pittsburgh.
Jordan came out of Week 18 with a high-ankle sprain and wasn't able to practice in any capacity Thursday through Saturday, so the decision to keep him on the sideline comes as little surprise. With Jordan set to be inactive, Houston's backfield options behind starter Woody Marks will be Nick Chubb, Dare Ogunbowale and British Brooks. Jordan's next chance for game action will come in the divisional round, assuming the Texans emerge victorious Monday.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Still not practicing
Jordan (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Per Wilson, Jordan -- who was listed as a non-participant Thursday -- is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, which clouds his status for Monday night's playoff opener against the Steelers. If Jordan ends up limited or out, added backfield snaps behind Woody Marks would be available for Nick Chubb and Dare Ogunbowale, with British Brooks available to mix in.
