Ravens' Rashod Bateman: Finds end zone in loss to Saints
Bateman caught seven of nine targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 loss to New Orleans.
With Zay Flowers (hamstring) unavailable, Bateman stepped up as Lamar Jackson's top downfield option and hauled in a 22-yard TD just before halftime, giving the Ravens a 14-3 lead. The veteran wideout made a mental error that may have cost his team the game, however -- on Baltimore's final possession as the Ravens were looking to tie it up, he cut a route short and saw Jackson's pass attempt sail over his head for a game-ending interception. Flowers could be back as soon as next week, which would relegate Bateman to a supporting role again for a Week 3 road trip to Dallas.

Ravens' Rashod Bateman: Looks like de facto No. 1 receiver
With teammate Zay Flowers (hamstring) listed as doubtful, Bateman has a big opportunity Sunday against the Saints, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com opines.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson said that Bateman "is actually going to get a lot more targets, I believe." The Ravens may not have any other choice after losing Flowers and Ja'Kobi Lane (wrist) to injuries during a Week 1 win over Indianapolis. Bateman played 80 percent of Baltimore's snaps in the contest, including 85 percent before halftime when Flowers and Lane were still in the game. Bateman likely will handle another lofty snap share this Sunday, and his target rate may rise with Flowers' usual snaps/routes being split between lesser players like Devontez Walker, LaJohntay Wester and Chris Moore.

Ravens' Rashod Bateman: Fails to haul in lone target Week 1
Bateman did not bring in his lone target during Baltimore's 41-23 win over Indianapolis on Sunday.
Bateman and Lamar Jackson connected on a 19-yard pass late in the second quarter, but that play was called back due to offensive holding. Jackson and Bateman failed to connect on a throw early in the third quarter, and the latter finished with zero catches for the fourth time since the beginning of the 2025 season. Bateman ended up leading all wide receivers with 53 offensive snaps, and despite the early dud, his role in the offense should expand for as long as rookie Ja'Kobi Lane is sidelined by a fractured wrist, and even moreso if Zay Flowers (hamstring) were to miss time. The Ravens host the Saints on Sept. 20 in what is Baltimore's home opener.

Ravens' Rashod Bateman: Facing charges after June incident
Bateman is facing three charges stemming from a domestic incident in June, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
The Ravens released a statement Friday: "We are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him. We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process. As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment." The NFL likely won't levy any sort of punishment on Bateman until the legal process plays itself out.

Ravens' Rashod Bateman: Back at practice Thursday
Bateman is in full uniform for Thursday's practice.
Bateman didn't take part in either of the Ravens' last two practices, but the team didn't disclose whether his absences were injury-related or part of a planned maintenance plan. Either way, Bateman will be back on the field Thursday, but it's unclear if the Ravens intend to have him suit up in Saturday's preseason opener versus the Eagles. While Bateman projects to head into Week 1 as a starter alongside No. 1 wideout Zay Flowers, rookie third-round pick Ja'Kobi Lane has generated considerable buzz during camp and could be a threat to poach reps in two-receiver sets as the season unfolds.

Ravens' Rashod Bateman: Missing practice for second straight day
Bateman is absent from practice Wednesday for a second straight day, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
No injury has been reported, so it is possible that Bateman's absence is related to a personal matter. With Baltimore's preseason opener coming up this Saturday against Philadelphia, the coaching staff may soon have an update on Bateman's status.
