Draft Scouting Report

Pro Comparison: Nakobe Dean
Summary

Josiah Trotter is the son of former All-Pro linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, and the bloodlines show consistently on tape. He’s one of the quickest read-and-react linebackers in the class and routinely makes plays on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Trotter simply doesn’t have the prototypical frame teams typically look for at the position.

About
  • 2025: 84 tackles (tied for eighth-most in SEC)
  • 2025: Missed Gator Bowl vs. Virginia due to knee surgery
Strengths
  • Instinctive player who sees plays develop at a high level.
  • Bendy rusher who can win the edge against offensive linemen.
  • Plus short-area quickness to sort through traffic in tight spaces.
Weaknesses
  • Smaller frame makes it difficult to consistently play off blocks at the NFL level.
  • Limited ball production in coverage; got his hands on just one pass in his career.
  • Can be overly aggressive working downhill.
Combine Data
  • Bench press: 27 reps
