Audric Estime: Let go with injury settlement
The Saints waived Estime (thigh) from injured reserve Tuesday with an injury settlement, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Estime was placed on injured reserve Sept. 12 due to a thigh injury. The running back was set to return to the team as a depth option after a short stint on IR. However, with Alvin Kamara making his season debut in Week 2 and Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson also on hand behind Travis Etienne, Estime was deemed expendable. Estime is now a free agent and can sign with any team as soon as he recovers from his thigh injury.

Saints' Audric Estime: Placed on IR
The Saints placed Estime (thigh) on injured reserve Saturday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
Estime was ruled out for Sunday's game against Detroit with a thigh injury. The running back's injury came out of nowhere but movement to IR likely means it is a significant issue. Estime will need to miss the first four games of the regular season before he is eligible to return to the field.

It's unclear when Estime suffered the thigh injury, but he didn't practice at all this week after leading the Saints in rushing in the preseason finale two weeks ago. If Alvin Kamara (knee) is unable to go against Detroit, Kendre Miller would serve as the RB2 behind Travis Etienne.

Estime rushed four times for 46 yards and caught all three of his targets for 22 yards in Friday's 27-24 preseason win over the Cowboys.
Estime led the Saints in rushing Friday, finishing with four more yards than Kendre Miller thanks to a 33-yard run. Estime had missed some time due to an ankle injury, but the running back's return to Monday's walkthrough session will enable him to re-enter the depth equation in a New Orleans backfield that's dealing with several injuries. Estime suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's preseason loss to the Jaguars, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Estime was injured on a hard hit after reeling in a catch for a six-yard loss in the second quarter. Prior to that, the 22-year-old had been impressive, breaking multiple tackles for a nine-yard TD run on New Orleans' first offensive play and tallying 28 yards on five total carries. Estime has a chance to earn the No. 3 RB role for the Saints, but he'll likely need to get healthy enough to show what he has to offer in additional preseason contests.

Saints' Audric Estime: Heads to locker room Saturday
Estime went to the locker room due to an apparent leg injury during Saturday's preseason game against Jacksonville, John Hendrix of AthlonSports.com reports.
Estime was hurt when he was hit hard on a catch that went for a six-yard loss. The third-year tailback went to the injury tent and then tested things out on the sideline before heading into the locker room. It remains to be seen if Estime is dealing with anything serious, but he was having a good game prior to exiting, rushing five times for 28 yards and a touchdown. Saints' Audric Estime: Plays workhorse role in loss
Estime rushed 21 times for 63 yards and brought in all five targets for 43 yards in the Saints' 19-17 loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
With Alvin Kamara (knee) sidelined once again to close out the season, Estime easily paced the Saints' ground attack in carries and rushing yards for a second straight week. The second-year pro was much less efficient than during his 14-carry, 94-yard performance against the Titans in Week 17, but Estime helped make up for it with an impressive day as a pass catcher. Estime put some good play on tape over the last two games, and with Kamara's future uncertain, it's possible Estime enters the final year of his deal with New Orleans in position to compete for significant playing time in 2026.

Saints' Audric Estime: Career-high rushing total in win
Estime rushed 14 times for 94 yards and a touchdown while bringing in his only target for four yards in the Saints' 34-26 win over the Titans on Sunday.
After both Estime and fellow back Evan Hull ceded plenty of work to jack-of-all-trades veteran Taysom Hill in a Week 16 win over the Jets, head coach Kellen Moore opted for a more traditional ground attack Sunday. Estime was the primary beneficiary, outpacing Hill and Hull by three and two carries, respectively, and recording a career-best rushing yardage total in the process. The 2024 fifth-round pick of the Broncos ripped off a 32-yard touchdown run to seal the win with just under four minutes remaining, and given his production, Estime looks like a strong candidate to helm the running game again in a Week 18 road matchup against the Falcons, assuming Alvin Kamara (knee) remains out.
