Red Wings' Trey Augustine: Lands three-year deal
Augustine agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with Detroit on Tuesday.
Augustine will join AHL Grand Rapids on an amateur tryout deal for the rest of this season before his contract kicks in starting with 2026-27. In his junior season with the Spartans, the 21-year-old backstop went 24-9-1 with a .929 save percentage and 2.11 GAA. Selected by the Wings with the 41st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, Augustine could find himself slowly working his way up the organizational depth chart.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Tending twine Tuesday
Gibson will guard the road goal against Pittsburgh on Tuesday, per Ansar Khan of MLive.com.
Despite losing three of his last four outings, Gibson will make his 12th straight start. He has a 27-18-3 record this campaign with four shutouts, a 2.58 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 50 appearances. Pittsburgh sits seventh in the league with 3.38 goals per game this season.

Red Wings' Anton Johansson: Reassigned to minors
Johansson has been assigned to AHL Grand Rapids from SHL Leksands IF by the Red Wings, the team announced Sunday.
Johansson saw some time in the AHL last season after his season in the SHL concluded, and it looks like it will be the same this year. The 21-year-old had another solid season with Leksands IF, notching 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 42 games. He will play for AHL Grand Rapids for the rest of the season unless the Red Wings call him up.

Red Wings' Michal Postava: Assigned to AHL
Postava was sent back to AHL Grand Rapids on Sunday.
Postava served as John Gibson's backup in Friday's 5-2 win over Buffalo. However, the Red Wings got Cam Talbot (undisclosed) back in the lineup for Saturday's 5-3 loss to Philadelphia, so Postava was a healthy scratch.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Earns two helpers in loss
Kane notched two assists and three shots on goal in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Kane picked up his second multi-point effort in a row and his fourth over the last 10 games. He's earned four goals, nine assists and 39 shots on net over 13 contests in March. The 37-year-old winger is up to a total of 46 points (13 goals, 33 helpers), 151 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 58 appearances in a top-six role this season.

Red Wings' Moritz Seider: Supplies two more assists
Seider logged two assists and five shots on goal in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Seider has six helpers over his last four games. The 24-year-old defenseman's surge has helped him secure a career year with 53 points over 73 outings so far. That includes 23 power-play points, as well as 170 shots on net, 110 hits, 160 blocked shots, 55 PIM and a plus-22 rating. Seider is one goal away from reaching double digits for the first time in his five-year career, and the 60-point threshold is also within striking distance before the end of the season.

Red Wings' Mason Appleton: Starts comeback attempt
Appleton scored a goal, added two PIM and logged four hits in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Appleton hadn't scored in 2026 prior to Saturday. He was limited to just two assists in his first 31 games of the calendar year, and those helpers both came against the Predators on March 2. Despite his meager scoring, he's remained in the lineup in a bottom-six role throughout the slump. The 30-year-old is at six goals, 14 points, 62 shots on net, 83 hits, 44 PIM, 28 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 63 appearances. He is on pace to miss the 20-point mark for just the second time in six years.

Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Tallies again Saturday
DeBrincat scored a goal on eight shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
DeBrincat scored at 15:10 of the third period, the second of three goals for the Red Wings in 2:31 late in the frame as they attempted a comeback. This goal gave DeBrincat four tallies and 11 assists during a nine-game point streak. The surge has the winger up to 37 goals, 78 points, 261 shots on net and a plus-8 rating over 73 outings. DeBrincat will set a career high in points when he next gets on the scoresheet, assuming he doesn't go ice cold to end the campaign.

Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Scores late in loss
Raymond scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Raymond's tally brought the Red Wings within a goal, but they couldn't tie the game. He has four goals and two assists over his last seven outings, but he hasn't had a multi-point effort since March 2 in Nashville. The star winger is up to 24 goals, 71 points, 153 shots on net and a plus-10 rating over 71 appearances in a top-six role this season.

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Makes relief appearance Saturday
Talbot stopped all four shots he faced in relief of John Gibson in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Talbot's entry into the game sparked the Red Wings, though they weren't able to erase all of the four-goal deficit they faced. The 38-year-old netminder had been sidelined by an undisclosed injury Friday. Talbot figures to see little work as long as the Red Wings are hunting for a playoff spot, as Gibson has taken over as a workhorse in March. For the season, Talbot is at a 12-8-5 record with a 3.01 GAA and an .892 save percentage over 29 appearances. The Red Wings have a back-to-back next weekend, which could offer Talbot a chance to get a start if he doesn't get one before then.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Yields four goals in loss
Gibson allowed four goals on 21 shots before he was replaced by Cam Talbot in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Gibson made his 11th straight start, but playing on consecutive days didn't go well for the 32-year-old. He exited the game after giving up Owen Tippett's hat-trick tally in the third period. It was Gibson's third loss in his last four games, and he's allowed 12 goals in that span. His heavy workload could be catching up to him. He's now at a 27-18-3 record with a 2.58 GAA and a .905 save percentage over 50 appearances this season. The Pittsburgh native seems likely to get the nod in his hometown when the Red Wings begin a three-game road trip Tuesday versus the Penguins.

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Slated to serve as backup Saturday
Talbot (undisclosed) is slated to serve as the backup goaltender for Saturday's home game against Philadelphia, per Ansar Khan of MLive.com.
Talbot sat out Friday's 5-2 win over Buffalo. However, John Gibson will be between the pipes for a second straight day. Talbot is 12-8-5 with a 3.03 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 28 outings in 2025-26. The 38-year-old Talbot hasn't been in the net since March 8 against New Jersey, but that was a relief appearance.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Facing Flyers on Saturday
Gibson will protect the home goal versus the Flyers on Saturday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Gibson will get the nod for the second day in a row and his 11th straight game. The 32-year-old is seeing a heavy workload as he tries to help guide the Red Wings into the playoffs. He has gone 4-5-1 with a 2.40 GAA and a .912 save percentage during his recent run of starts, though the Flyers present a bit of a challenge since they've won four of their last five games.

Red Wings' Carter Mazur: Up from AHL
Mazur was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Saturday.
Mazur has 11 goals and 14 points in 14 outings with Grand Rapids this season. He hasn't played for Detroit yet in the 2025-26 campaign, and injuries have limited his opportunities for call-ups.

Red Wings' Carter Bear: Three helpers in Everett win
Bear notched three assists in WHL Everett's 8-1 win over Portland in Game 1 on Friday.
The Silvertips dominated their playoff opener, and Bear was right in the middle of it. He had just four assists in nine playoff games two years ago -- he didn't play in the 2024-25 postseason due to a partially torn right Achilles tendon. Bear is coming off a 36-goal, 77-point effort over 53 regular-season contests, so he should continue to rack up significant offense as Everett attempts to go on a deep run this spring.

Red Wings' Max Plante: Two points to get to quarters
Plante scored a goal and added an assist in the University of Minnesota-Duluth's 3-1 win over Penn State on Friday.
Plante is up to 24 goals and 25 assists over 38 appearances this season. The forward had a massive uptick in offense after a 28-point campaign as a freshman last year. Plante and the Bulldogs are through to the NCAA quarterfinals, where they'll face the top-seeded University of Michigan on Sunday.
