Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Opens scoring on power play
Svechnikov scored a power-play goal on four shots, added two PIM and doled out three hits in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Canadiens.
Svechnikov's tally at 8:37 of the first period opened the scoring, but it was the only one of the Hurricanes' 35 shots to hit the back of the net. The 26-year-old winger had been limited to two power-play assists over his previous five outings. Svechnikov is up to 26 goals, 62 points (25 on the power play), 185 shots on net, 132 hits, 58 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 73 appearances. This is his third regular season with at least 60 points, though he would need a surge to match his career-best 69 from 78 regular-season outings in 2021-22.

Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Falls to Canadiens
Andersen stopped 15 of 18 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Canadiens.
Andersen gave up all three goals in the second period and didn't get enough help to overcome that bad frame. The 36-year-old has lost his last two outings, giving up seven goals on 36 shots in that span to follow a five-game winning streak. Andersen and Brandon Bussi are nearly splitting the crease evenly now, and behind the Hurricanes' sturdy defense, both goalies are in good position to rack up wins. On the year, Andersen has gone 13-13-5 with a 3.16 GAA and an .871 save percentage. The Hurricanes face the Blue Jackets for a home-and-home over the next two games, beginning in Columbus on Tuesday.

Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Sunday starter
Andersen will start Sunday's game in net against the Canadiens, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Andersen is coming off of a tough start his last time out, as he stopped just 14 of the 18 shots he faced against the same Canadiens team he is set to face Sunday. He has found success against the Canadiens throughout his career, with a 15-6-2 record against them. On the season overall, the 36-year-old is 13-12-5 with a 3.15 GAA and an .871 save percentage.

Hurricanes' William Carrier: Stuck in goal drought
Carrier's goal drought reached 20 games in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Carrier has just three assists to go with 21 shots on net and 50 hits in that span. The 31-year-old still remains the Hurricanes' preferred source of fourth-line toughness even after the team acquired Nicolas Deslauriers from the Flyers at the trade deadline. Carrier has produced 14 points, 71 shots on net, 148 hits, 18 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 61 outings this season, giving him minimal fantasy upside.

Hurricanes' Jackson Blake: Nets go-ahead goal
Blake scored a goal in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Blake has put together a decent March with four goals and five helpers over 13 contests. The 22-year-old winger continues to hold down a top-six role, and while he's not on the leading edge of the Hurricanes' offense, he contributes his fair share. He's up to 21 goals, 45 points, 155 shots on net and 38 PIM over 72 appearances this season.

Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Knocking on door of 20-goal year
Staal scored a goal on two shots, blocked three shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Staal scored for the third time in the last four games. The 37-year-old center is up to 19 tallies, putting him on the doorstep of his first 20-goal regular season since 2015-16. In recent campaigns, Staal has been a steady source of hits while finishing around the 35-point mark, giving him some appeal in deeper fantasy formats. He's at 32 points, 96 shots on net, 150 hits, 41 blocked shots, 29 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 69 appearances this season.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Secures 30-goal campaign
Jarvis scored a shorthanded empty-net goal on three shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Jarvis extended his point streak to five games (two goals, six assists) with the late tally, which was his 30th goal of the year. That's a mark he's reached three years running, making Jarvis one of the steadiest young goal scorers in the league. He's at 61 points (20 on the power play, four shorthanded) with 204 shots on net, 78 hits, 26 blocked shots, 21 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 64 appearances.

Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Two-point effort in return
Gostisbehere (lower body) scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
The veteran blueliner helped set up a Jackson Blake tally midway through the second period before potting his own late in the third. Gostisbehere had missed the prior nine games with a lower-body injury, but he looked none the worse for wear in his return to the lineup. On the season, he has 12 goals and 45 points in just 46 contests, with his health being the only thing that has stood between Ghost and a career-best campaign.

Hurricanes' Taylor Hall: Two helpers in Saturday's win
Hall picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
The veteran winger helped set up Carolina's first two goals of the game midway through the second period as the home squad erased an early 1-0 deficit. Hall has gotten onto the scoresheet only three times in the last nine games, collecting a goal and five points. Overall, he has 15 goals and 40 points in 72 contests.

Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Two points against Devils
Ehlers scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over New Jersey.
Both points came in the second period as Carolina erased an early 1-0 deficit. Ehlers is wrapping up a big March that has seen the veteran winger produce eight goals and 17 points in 13 games. Saturday's effort put him over the 60-point mark for the third straight regular season and the fifth time in his career.

Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Not busy in Saturday's win
Bussi turned aside 17 shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
New Jersey took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission, but Carolina took control the rest of the way and Bussi ended up cruising to his 27th win of the season. The rookie netminder has been inconsistent since the Olympic break, going 4-3-0 in seven starts with a 3.60 GAA and ,849 save percentage as he battles with Frederik Andersen for the top spot between the pipes heading into the playoffs.

Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Guarding home goal
Bussi is set to start at home against New Jersey on Saturday, per Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News.
Bussi has surrendered at least three goals in five of his past six outings. That's put a damper on what has otherwise been a strong rookie campaign. He's 26-6-1 with a 2.47 GAA and an .895 save percentage in 33 outings with Carolina in 2025-26. New Jersey is 9-3-0 while averaging 4.00 goals per game across its past 12 matches.

Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Expected to play
Gostisbehere (lower body) is slated to play against New Jersey on Saturday, per Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News.
Following a nine-game absence, Gostisbehere is poised to occupy a spot on the third pairing and see time on the first power-play unit against the Devils on Saturday. He has compiled 11 goals, 43 points, 98 shots on net and 50 blocked shots across 45 appearances this season.

Hurricanes' Ivan Ryabkin: Four points in QMJHL playoff opener
Ryabkin scored twice and added two assists in QMJHL Charlottetown's 5-3 win in Game 1 over Quebec on Friday.
Ryabkin made an impact in his playoff debut. It's no surprise he's already putting up some offense in the playoffs after lighting up the QMJHL for 13 goals and 42 points over 20 regular-season contests. The Hurricanes prospect will look to lead Charlottetown on a deep run. He'll likely be a candidate to play in the AHL in 2026-27.

Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Could return Saturday
Gostisbehere (lower body) might be ready to play in Saturday's clash with the Devils, Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News reports.
Gostisbehere was working on the third pairing at Friday's practice and was running the No. 1 power-play unit, strong indicators that he will be back in action versus the Devils. If the blueliner does return, it will end a nine-game absence due to his lower-body problem. Prior to his absence, Gostisbehere was rolling offensively with 11 points in his previous 10 outings.

Hurricanes' Ronan Seeley: Two goals in AHL victory
Seeley scored twice in AHL Chicago's 4-3 shootout win over Iowa on Wednesday.
Seeley has 10 goals and nine assists over 59 outings for the Wolves this season. He's shooting a career-high 11.2 percent, which makes his strong scoring production unlikely to last in the long run. Seeley is set for restricted free agency this summer. He's yet to match the 25-point rookie year he had in 2022-23, so he appears to be quite far off from earning his NHL debut.
