Dolphins' Quinn Ewers: Plays late in preseason win
Ewers completed seven of eight passes for 66 yards in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Ewers was the third Dolphins quarterback to enter the game, and he quickly connected on a 21-yard gain with Andrew Armstrong. He otherwise attempted passes primarily in the short areas of the field while limiting mistakes. Ewers had an inconsistent first preseason as a pro and looks likely to serve as the third quarterback in Miami to begin the season.

Dolphins' Mike Boone: Finds end zone against Jags
Boone rushed the ball seven times for 27 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars. He added one catch on two targets for eight yards.
Both De'Von Achane (calf) and Jaylen Wright (leg) were unavailable, which left Boone as the second back to enter the game for Miami. He played a significant role in Miami's scoring drive to begin the third quarter, converting a first down with a six-yard run and then finding the end zone on a seven-yard scamper. Though Boone just joined the team two weeks ago, he looks to have a decent chance to make the roster as a depth option.

Dolphins' Zach Wilson: Another mixed performance
Wilson completed nine of 13 passes for 80 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Wilson followed Tua Tagovailoa into the game and led two lengthy possessions. The first stalled after Wilson took a sack, but he then tallied long completions of 21 and 17 yards on the following drive, which concluded in a rushing score. Wilson appears likely to head into the regular season as Tagovailoa's backup.

Dolphins' Malik Washington: Shows rapport with Tagovailoa
Washington recorded three receptions on three targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Washington got the chance to play three drives with Tua Tagovailoa in the absence of Tyreek Hill (oblique), and he impressed with the chance. He made all of his catches in the short area of the field, though he navigated through defenders and traffic on the field to score a 25-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. Washington had minimal production as a rookie in 2024, but he could see that improve in 2025 -- particularly if either Hill or Jaylen Waddle is forced to miss any time.

Dolphins' Jordyn Brooks: Dealing with injury
Coach Mike McDaniel said Brooks is dealing with a "minor" undisclosed injury, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
McDaniel said Brooks would have played in Saturday's preseason finale had it been a regular-season contest, so it sounds like the linebacker should be fine for Week 1 against the Colts on Sept. 7. Brooks underwent offseason wrist surgery, but it's unclear if the latest injury is related to that one.

Dolphins' Jason Sanders: Expected back by Week 1
Coach Mike McDaniel said Saturday that Sanders (undisclosed) is expected to be fine for Miami's Week 1 game against the Colts on Sept. 7, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Sanders didn't kick for Miami in its preseason finale Saturday, though McDaniel didn't specify what is plaguing the kicker. Sanders made 37 of 41 field-goal tries, including 12 of 14 from 50-plus yards, across 17 regular-season games last season. He also converted 26 of 28 extra-point attempts.

Dolphins' Ollie Gordon: Concludes impressive preseason
Gordon rushed the ball eight times for 43 yards in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars. He did not catch his only target.
Both De'Von Achane (calf) and Jaylen Wright (leg) were out, which allowed Gordon to take the field with much of Miami's starting offense. He didn't have any big plays, but he consistently picked up needed chunks of yardage to continue his impressive summer. While the Dolphins have suggested that Achane will be ready for Week 1 against the Colts, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Gordon operate as his primary backup.

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Deemed 'week-to-week' by McDaniel
Coach Mike McDaniel said after Saturday's preseason game versus the Jaguars that Wright (leg) continues to be evaluated and is "week-to-week," Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Such a comment from McDaniel indicates that Wright's status for the Dolphins' season opener Sunday, Sept. 7 at Indianapolis is up in the air. Wright walked off the practice field slowly Thursday and then was spotted with a sleeve on his right leg and without crutches ahead of Saturday's exhibition. With the second-year pro's immediate future to be determined, rookie sixth-rounder Ollie Gordon currently is the healthiest and most appealing reserve running back behind starter De'Von Achane, who currently is sidelined due to a calf injury.

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: One catch against Jags
Waddle recorded one catch on one target for eight yards in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Waddle played along with most of Miami's healthy starting offensive unit and was on the field for three possessions. He hade his lone catch on the final drive on a pass delivered by Tua Tagovailoa, and Waddle will now turn his focus toward a Week 1 matchup against the Colts.

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Cautious approach continues
Coach Mike McDaniel said after Saturday's preseason game against the Jaguars that Achane (calf) hasn't suffered any setbacks, and the running back should return to practice ahead of a Week 1 road matchup with the Colts on Sunday, Sept. 7, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Achane has missed a week of practice sandwiched by the Dolphins' last two exhibitions due to a calf injury. Per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, McDaniel previously has noted that Achane's absence is "preventative in nature," so the team likely will continue to take a cautious approach with its No. 1 running back. Whether or not Achane mixes into drills this week or during Week 1 prep remains to be seen, but with top reserve RB Jaylen Wright week-to-week due to a right leg injury, rookie sixth-round pick Ollie Gordon currently is the healthiest and most fantasy-friendly of Miami's remaining options at the position.

Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Plays three drives
Tagovailoa completed four of eight passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Tagovailoa made his preseason debut and led three offensive possessions, the final of which ended with a touchdown. Though Jaylen Waddle also played, Tagovailoa primarily targeted Malik Washington, who did the majority of the work on Tagovailoa's 25-yard touchdown pass. Most importantly, he came from the contest healthy and will be locked in as the starting quarterback for Miami's Week 1 matchup against the Colts.

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Not slated to play Saturday
Wright (leg) isn't suited up for Saturday's preseason contest against the Jaguars, Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reports.
Wright walked slowly off the practice field Thursday due to an undisclosed injury. While he isn't slated to play Saturday, he was wearing a compression sleeve on his right leg without crutches, indicating that the health concern isn't a serious one. With No. 1 RB De'Von Achane also sidelined at the moment with a calf injury, rookie sixth-rounder Ollie Gordon and veterans Mike Boone and Aaron Shampklin are the Dolphins' health options at the position.

Waddle has yet to play during exhibition season, first due to an undisclosed injury in the first contest and then because most of the Dolphins' key players were held out last Saturday.
