Lions' Giovanni Manu: Lands on IR with knee injury
The Lions placed Manu (knee) on injured reserve Saturday.
Manu popped up on Thursday's practice report due to a knee injury and was unable to practice Friday. The injury appears severe enough for him to go on IR, and the 2024 fourth-rounder will be forced to miss at least the next four games, making Week 11 against the Eagles on Sunday, Nov. 16 the earliest he can return. With Manu and Taylor Decker (shoulder) both out, Dan Skipper is in line to start at left tackle against Kansas City on Sunday.

Lions' Avonte Maddox: Ruled out Week 6
Maddox (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
The veteran corner made an appearance on Thursday's practice report after being limited due to a hamstring injury. The injury is severe enough for Maddox to miss Sunday's game, and his next chance to play is Week 7 against the Buccaneers on Monday, Oct. 20. Arthur Maulet was elevated from the practice squad and could see rotational snaps in the secondary in Maddox's absence.

Decker was unable to practice this past week due to a shoulder injury and will miss a second consecutive game as a result. With Decker and Giovanni Manu (knee) both ruled out, Dan Skipper could serve as the Lions' starting left tackle for Sunday's contest.

Decker (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday night's game against the Chiefs, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.
Decker didn't practice at all this week, but the Lions are leaving the door open for him to face Kansas City after Decker missed last Sunday's win over the Bengals. Giovanni Manu made the start in Decker's place last week and was the weak link on the offensive line. Dan Skipper was recently signed to the active roster and could be an option to start in Decker's place if he's unable to play Sunday.

Maddox is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs due to a hamstring injury, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.
Maddox popped up on Thursday's practice report as a limited participant due to a hamstring injury, which was severe enough for him to not practice Friday. That's a trend in the wrong direction for the veteran corner, but his official status may not be known until approximately 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. Maddox has provided rotational help in the secondary while also contributing on special teams, but his absence would hurt a Lions secondary that is already without Terrion Arnold (shoulder) and could be missing Brian Branch (ankle) and Kerby Joseph (knee).
