  • Lions' Isaac TeSlaa: Another impressive preseason TD

TeSlaa caught both his targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 26-7 preseason loss to the Texans.

The 2025 third-round pick wrapped up his dazzling preseason with another big play, connecting with Kyle Allen on a 33-yard TD strike late in the first quarter. TeSlaa has done everything possible to lock up a spot on the 53-man roster, and while he may begin the season as the No. 5 wideout, his trajectory to begin his career suggests it may not be long before he surpasses veterans Tim Patrick and Kalif Raymond to claim the No. 3 role behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

  • Lions' Hendon Hooker: No. 2 job slipping away

Hooker completed six of 11 passes for 70 yards and an interception in Saturday's 26-7 preseason loss to the Texans. He added 25 yards on his only carry.

While it was encouraging to see him make a big play with his legs, Hooker was once again out-performed through the air by Kyle Allen, who got the start completed all five of his passes and hit Isaac TeSlaa for a 33-yard TD. Hooker headed into training camp the favorite to take over the No. 2 QB job behind Jared Goff, but he may have squandered the opportunity and let Allen leapfrog him on the depth chart.

  • Lions' Kyle Allen: Perfect in preseason finale

Allen completed all five of his passes for 66 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 26-7 preseason loss to the Texans.

The 29-year-old QB may have locked up the No. 2 job for the Lions with this performance. Allen got the start and while he took a sack to end Detroit's first possession, he was laser-focused on the second, ending the drive with a 33-yard TD pass to Isaac TeSlaa. Hendon Hooker, meanwhile, went 6-for-11 for 70 yards and an INT after taking over from Allen. Jared Goff is locked into the starting role for the Lions, but Allen appears to be the next man up should anything happen to him.

  • Lions' Ezekiel Turner: Suffers foot injury vs. Houston

Turner was helped off the field after injuring his right foot during Saturday's preseason game against the Texans, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.

Turner was unable to put any weight on his right foot while being assisted off the field, making it unlikely that he'll return to Saturday's contest. The veteran linebacker is competing for a depth spot on the Lions' 53-man roster.

  • Lions' Graham Glasgow: Dealing with minor injury

Glasgow (lower leg) is nursing a minor injury after having exited Thursday's practice early, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.

Glasgow left practice early Thursday due to an apparent lower body injury, but the Lions have no long-term concerns about his availability. It sounds like the starting guard can be considered on track for Week 1 against the Packers on Sunday, Sep. 7, though it remains to be seen whether he'll be cleared in time for Saturday's preseason finale against the Texans.

  • Lions' Graham Glasgow: Evaluated for lower-leg injury

Glasgow (lower leg) left practice early Thursday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Glasgow is being evaluated for a lower-leg injury, though the exact nature and severity of the center's injury has yet to be revealed. The Lions will open regular-season play Sept. 7 against the Packers.

  • Lions' Josh Paschal: Could return later than hoped

Head coach Dan Campbell said Thursday that Paschal's (undisclosed) return "could be a little later than we hoped" after Paschal was previously aiming to return in early September, Nolan Bianchi of the Detroit News reports.

Paschal looks unlikely to be ready for the regular-season opener against the Packers on Sept. 7. Depending on the projected length of his absence, Paschal could be a candidate to begin the season on IR or the PUP list. He's currently on the active/non-football injury list.
