Senators' Tyler Kleven: Won't play during road trip
Kleven (undisclosed) didn't travel with the Senators ahead of their two-game road trip to begin the regular season, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
Kleven has been dealing with an undisclosed injury since Sept. 21, and he was placed on injured reserve Monday. There was initially some hope that he'd be able to return for the Senators' Opening Night matchup against Tampa Bay, but he'll be forced to miss that game, along with Saturday's game against Florida. His next chance to suit up will be during Monday's home opener against the Predators, but it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return.

Senators' Drake Batherson: Won't play Thursday
Batherson (upper body) has been ruled out for Thursday's Opening Night matchup against the Lightning, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
Batherson joined the Senators for Wednesday's practice but left the session early. He hopes to be available to make his season debut Saturday against the Panthers. The 27-year-old had appeared in all 82 regular-season games in each of the last three campaigns, and he recorded 26 goals, 42 assists, 149 hits, 30 blocked shots and 30 PIM during the 2025-26 regular season.

Senators' Tyler Kleven: Might still play Thursday
Kleven (undisclosed) hasn't been ruled out for Ottawa's season opener against Tampa Bay on Thursday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports Wednesday.
Kleven was put on injured reserve Monday due to an injury he sustained Sept. 21, so it's a little surprising that he might still play Opening Night. Donovan Sebrango is likely to get into the lineup if Kleven can't play. The 23-year-old Kleven had four goals, 10 points, 27 PIM, 105 hits and 97 blocks in 79 regular-season outings with Ottawa in 2024-25.

Senators' Olle Lycksell: Makes team out of training camp
Lycksell is with the Senators going into the team's season opener against Tampa Bay on Thursday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports Wednesday.
Although Lycksell made Ottawa's roster out of training camp, he served as an extra during Wednesday's practice, so he'll probably be a healthy scratch Thursday. The 26-year-old had five assists in 19 outings with Philadelphia as well as 19 goals and 44 points in 43 appearances with AHL Lehigh Valley during the 2024-25 regular season.

Senators' Drake Batherson: Might play Thursday
Batherson (upper body) plans to join the Senators for Wednesday's morning skate, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.
Although Batherson was put on injured reserve Monday due to an injury he suffered Sept. 23, there's still a chance he'll end up playing in Ottawa's season opener against Tampa Bay on Thursday. Batherson had 26 goals and 68 points in 82 regular-season appearances with the Senators in 2024-25.

Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Assigned to minors
Yakemchuk was loaned to AHL Belleville on Monday.
Yakemchuk produced 17 goals and 49 points in 56 regular-season games for WHL Calgary in 2024-25. He will begin his professional career in the minors, but it wouldn't be surprising if he made his NHL debut at some point this campaign.

Senators' Tyler Kleven: Lands on injured reserve
Kleven (undisclosed) was designated for injured reserve Monday.
Kleven's injury status hasn't been updated by the team, so it's hard to know just how long the blueliner will be on the shelf. Having said that, the team wouldn't have placed Kleven on injured reserve if he was going to be available for Opening Night against the Lightning on Thursday. Donovan Sebrango figures to jump into the lineup with Kleven out of action.

Senators' Drake Batherson: Lands on IR
Batherson (upper body) was moved to injured reserve Monday.
Batherson probably won't be ready for Opening Night against Tampa Bay on Thursday, but he is eligible to be activated whenever he receives clearance to return. He accounted for 26 goals, 68 points, 192 shots on net and 149 hits across 82 regular-season games in 2024-25. Once he's healthy, Batherson will likely occupy a top-six role and see power-play time.

Kaliyev was placed on waivers by the Senators for the purpose of assignment to AHL Belleville, the team announced Sunday.

The 24-year-old will begin 2025-26 healthy but with AHL Belleville. Kaliyev had a goal and an assist in five appearances with AHL Ontario as well as three goals and four points in 14 outings with the Rangers during the 2024-25 regular season.

Senators' Jan Jenik: On waivers for AHL assignment
Jenik has been put on waivers by the Senators for the purpose of assignment to AHL Belleville, the team announced Sunday.
Jenik was among the final round of roster cuts by the Senators and will likely begin the season with AHL Belleville. The 25-year-old was a fixture there last year, scoring 12 goals and adding 17 assists in 52 regular-season games with the team. He will likely be one of the first call-up options for the Senators should the need for a forward arise during the campaign.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Set to face Montreal
Ullmark is expected to start on the road against Montreal in Saturday's preseason game.
Ullmark has stopped 19 of 22 shots across two appearances this preseason. He will open the 2025-26 campaign as Ottawa's No. 1 goaltender, so look for him to get the start in Ottawa's regular-season opener in Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Senators' Tyler Kleven: Won't play Saturday
Kleven (undisclosed) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's preseason game against Montreal, per Stu Cowan of The Montreal Gazette.
Kleven hasn't played since exiting a preseason tilt against Toronto on Sept. 21, so it's not clear if he will be an option for Ottawa's regular-season opener against Tampa Bay on Thursday. If Kleven can't play, then Jordan Spence might land a spot on the third pairing.

Senators' Lars Eller: Playing Saturday
Eller (abdomen) will suit up for Saturday's preseason game versus the Canadiens, Stu Cowan of The Montreal Gazette reports.
Eller has been brought along slowly in training camp while recovering from abdominal surgery. He was targeting Saturday for his return and will be available for the beginning of the regular season.. However, it's unclear if the 36-year-old will be an everyday option for the Senators this campaign, especially after missing so much of camp, but he should contend for bottom-six minutes.

Senators' Kurtis MacDermid: Sent to Ottawa
MacDermid was traded to the Senators from the Devils on Friday in exchange for Zack MacEwen.
MacDermid made 23 regular-season appearances for the Devils last year, and he was held without a point while racking up 40 hits, 23 PIM and eight blocked shots. He'll likely have a chance to carve out a part-time role with his new team during the 2025-26 campaign.
