Senators' Nick Cousins: Says he's fine following early exit
Cousins (undisclosed) said Monday that he's fine after exiting Saturday's game against the Canadiens, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Cousins departed Saturday's matchup in the third period, and the Senators didn't update his status after the game. However, it doesn't appear as though he'll be forced to miss Thursday's game against the Bruins. Over 13 appearances this year, Cousins has recorded two goals, an assist, 25 hits, nine blocked shots and 25 PIM while averaging 11:12 of ice time.

Senators' Tyler Kleven: First point of season
Kleven supplied an assist and added five PIM in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens.
Kleven dropped the mitts with Joe Veleno in the first period. In the third, Kleven helped out on Tim Stutzle's go-ahead tally. Through 11 outings, Kleven has 12 shots on net, 21 blocked shots, 17 hits, nine PIM and a minus-5 rating while holding down a spot on the Senators' third pairing. He had just 10 points in 79 regular-season contests last year, so don't expect a significant uptick in his offense in 2025-26.

Senators' Michael Amadio: Scores again Saturday
Amadio scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens.
Amadio now scored three times in the last six games. He also has an assist in that span, and that accounts for all of his offense on the year. The 29-year-old forward is filling a middle-six role, and while he's chipping in some offense, he's worth a look in deep fantasy formats. He's added 13 shots on net, 18 hits, 12 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating across 13 appearances overall.

Senators' Hunter Shepard: Dropped to minors
Shepard was assigned to AHL Belleville on Sunday.
The Senators recalled Leevi Merilainen from the minors in a corresponding move. Shepard has appeared in two games this season as Ottawa's backup goalie, including Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal, but he hasn't had any NHL action yet.

Senators' Leevi Merilainen: Recalled after strong outing
Merilainen has been recalled to the NHL by the Senators, the team announced Sunday.
Merilainen began the season in the NHL with very mixed results, and he was sent down to AHL Belleville. Following his second consecutive victory for Belleville, the 23-year-old is back up with Ottawa again; Hunter Shepard is moving down in the corresponding move. Merilainen will assume backup goaltender duties behind Linus Ullmark once again.

Senators' Tim Stutzle: Scores against Montreal
Stutzle scored a goal while adding two hits and two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal.
Stutzle found the back of the net with a backhander in the third period, and that was his sixth goal of the season. Furthermore, the 23-year-old playmaker is now riding a five-game point streak, and he continues to be one of the most consistent and productive players for the Senators. During that span, Stutzle has notched nine points (four goals, five assists), 16 shots on goal, five hits, four blocked shots and a plus-1 rating.

Senators' Drake Batherson: Extends point streak to five games
Batherson scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal. He also racked up two PIM, three shots on goal, four hits and a plus-1 rating.
Batherson continues to play at a high level for the Senators this season and has been on a tear of late, posting four multi-point performances over his last five contests. During that five-game stretch, Batherson has notched 11 points (five goals, six assists), 14 shots on goal and nine hits.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Beaten four times Saturday
Ullmark stopped 23 of 27 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal.
Ullmark has been tagged with the loss in regulation in only one of his last six appearances, but his fantasy output hasn't turned heads. He's posted a save percentage below the .900 mark in each of his previous three games. Over that six-game stretch, Ullmark has gone 3-1-2 with a 2.94 GAA and an .873 save percentage.

Senators' Wyatt Bongiovanni: Scores twice in AHL win
Bongiovanni scored two goals on four shots in OHL Belleville's 7-4 win over Syracuse on Saturday.
Bongiovanni is off to a positive start with Belleville this season, earning five goals and one helper over eight games. He had 33 points, including 22 goals, in 54 regular-season contests last year. His offense has steadily grown bit-by-bit as a professional, and the 26-year-old could be a call-up option for the Senators if he continues to display a strong scoring touch in the AHL.

Senators' Nick Cousins: Doesn't finish contest
Cousins (undisclosed) left Saturday's game versus the Canadiens in the third period and did not return, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
There was no update on Cousins' status after the contest. The Senators have a few days off before they visit the Bruins on Thursday, so it may be a while before an update on Cousins' injury is available. If he can't play, Olle Lycksell and Kurtis MacDermid could both be in the lineup after previously competing for one spot in recent weeks.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Facing Canadiens
Ullmark will be between the visiting pipes in Montreal on Saturday, according to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.
Ullmark has won three of his last four starts, boosting his record to 5-4-1 with a 3.37 GAA and an .863 save percentage across 10 starts this season. Montreal has averaged 3.64 goals per game this campaign, tying the team for fifth in the league.

Senators' Hunter Shepard: Called up from AHL
Shepard was recalled from AHL Belleville on Saturday.
Shepard was recalled last week and then sent down without seeing any NHL action. Shepard was 2-2-0 with a 3.02 GAA and a .906 save percentage in four AHL appearances before his recall. The Senators sent Leevi Merilainen to Belleville in a corresponding move.

Senators' Leevi Merilainen: Sent to AHL
Merilainen was reassigned to AHL Belleville on Saturday.
Merilainen has played only twice this season, allowing nine goals on 54 shots (.833 save percentage). The move will give him some playing time at the AHL level, and he will likely return to the big club in the near future. The Senators recalled Hunter Shepard to back up Linus Ullmark in a corresponding move.

Senators' Artem Zub: Pots goal Thursday
Zub scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Flames.
Zub has had a good run of offense recently with a goal and four helpers over his last five games. The 30-year-old is playing in a top-four role, but he's not known for his scoring, so it's unlikely this success will stick in the long run. He's off to a positive start with two goals, eight points, 19 shots on net, 19 hits, 16 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 12 appearances in October. Zub had 13 points in 56 regular-season outings last year and has topped the 20-point mark in just two of his first five NHL campaigns.

Senators' Jake Sanderson: Forces overtime Thursday
Sanderson scored a goal on eight shots and blocked three shots in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Flames.
Sanderson scored at 17:11 of the third period to tie the game at 3-3, making up for his turnover that led to the Flames' third goal. During his four-game point streak, the defenseman has two goals and four assists, and the eight shots he posted Thursday were easily a season high. The 23-year-old is up to three goals, 11 points, 29 shots on net, 22 blocks and a minus-1 rating across 12 appearances.

Senators' Lars Eller: Two-point effort Thursday
Eller scored a shorthanded goal and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Flames.
The 36-year-old center opened the scoring for Ottawa midway through the first period before setting up Artem Zub for a tally early in the third. It was Eller's first multi-point performance of the season, and after being held off the scoresheet through the first three games of the season, he's bounced back with two goals and six points in the last nine contests.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Comes up big in shootout
Ullmark made 27 saves in regulation and overtime and turned aside both shootout attempts he faced in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Flames.
The two teams traded goals through three periods, but two of Calgary's came on power plays, and Ullmark was able to stand tall when the game eventually got to a shootout. The veteran netminder has just one regulation loss in his last five starts, going 3-1-1, but after coughing up six goals in Chicago on Tuesday -- the third time already in 2025-26 he's been beaten five or more times -- Ullmark is saddled with a 3.37 GAA and .863 save percentage across 10 starts on the season.
