Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Tagged for three goals in defeat
Kuemper stopped 24 of the 27 shots on goal he faced during Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Jets.
Kuemper has had a tough start to his season so far, with both of his appearances now featuring save percentage numbers in the .800s. He's faced two tough offenses in the Golden Knights and Jets to begin the season, but the Kings would surely like to see the 35-year-old rise to the level of play he reached last season, when he was a Vezina Trophy finalist.

Kings' Mikey Anderson: Scores goal in loss
Anderson scored a goal on two shots, delivered one hit and had a plus-1 rating in 18:44 of ice time during Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Jets.
Anderson is the top left-shot defenseman on the Kings' depth chart following the departure of Vladislav Gavrikov in free agency, and he has the ice time to prove it. Anderson scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's loss after netting a career-high six tallies in the 2024-25 regular season. More known for his defensive acumen, the 26-year-old has lit the lamp 18 times over 348 regular-season outings during his seven-year NHL career.

Kings' Adrian Kempe: Nets first goal this season
Kempe scored once on six shots on goal while adding an assist, one blocked shot, four hits and a plus-2 rating during Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Jets.
Kempe factored into both of the Kings' two goals Saturday, including netting his first goal of the season. The 29-year-old is up to three points through three games played and has also been a factor physically so far this season. The winger has delivered 11 hits, on pace to crush his career-high of 119, set in the 2022-23 season.

Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Starting in Winnipeg
Kuemper will defend the road net against the Jets on Saturday, according to Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.
Kuemper stopped 19 of the 23 shots he faced in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Colorado. Winnipeg is coming off a 5-4 defeat to Dallas on Thursday. The 35-year-old Kuemper went 2-0-0 versus Winnipeg during the 2024-25 regular season while stopping 37 of 39 shots.

Kings' Francesco Pinelli: Opens season with two points
Pinelli scored a goal and added an assist in AHL Ontario's 5-4 overtime loss to Tucson on Friday.
Pinelli is embarking on his third AHL campaign. He's yet to earn a call-up to the Kings, and that's understandable considering he produced only 49 points across 137 regular-season games in his first two professional seasons. The Kings' forward depth in the NHL is pretty set, and there are a few players on the Reign ahead of Pinelli for a recall, so it'll be on the 22-year-old to take a step forward this year.

Kings' Akil Thomas: One of each in AHL loss
Thomas scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in AHL Ontario's 5-4 overtime loss to Tucson on Friday.
Thomas didn't get any games in the AHL last year, logging three points in 25 NHL regular-season outings with the Kings. He was waived to begin 2025-26, so he'll be motivated to earn his way back to the big club. Friday was a positive start for him, but he'll need to sustain his offense throughout the year to be in line for a call-up.

Kings' Henry Brzustewicz: Massive showing Friday
Brzustewicz scored twice on 10 shots in OHL London's 6-1 win over Erie on Friday.
Brzustewicz, a defenseman, was a huge performer in this big win for the Knights. He was selected 31st overall in 2025 by the Kings, though his offense is still viewed as a work in progress. The 18-year-old blueliner has four points over five games this season after recording 42 points, 146 shots on net and 77 PIM in 67 regular-season outings a year ago.

Kings' Alex Turcotte: Slings helper in shootout win
Turcotte provided an assist and five PIM in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
Turcotte's penalty was a major for boarding in the second period that led to two goals for the Golden Knights. Aside from that, the 24-year-old looked effective in a fourth-line role. He's averaging just 7:09 of ice time per game through two contests, adding one shot on net, two blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating. He'll need to continue being impressive in a limited role to keep Samuel Helenius in the press box. Still, Turcotte also has enough scoring upside to move up the lineup when injuries occur.

Kings' Jeff Malott: Deposits first career goal
Malott scored a goal, added three hits and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
In his 15th career NHL game, Malott came away with his first career goal. After initially being credited to linemate Joel Armia, a scoring revision during the second intermission indicated that Malott got a touch on the puck at the net front. The 29-year-old Malott has started 2025-26 in a fourth-line role, though he's averaging just 6:27 of ice time while adding six hits and seven PIM over two games. Even if he stays in the lineup over Samuel Helenius, Malott offers little upside for fantasy.

Kings' Trevor Moore: Nets shortie in comeback win
Moore scored a shorthanded goal in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
Vegas took over late in the second period and carried momentum into the third, but Moore's goal helped the Kings claw back from a 5-3 deficit. The 30-year-old winger has picked up four shots on net and a minus-1 rating over two games this season. Moore has historically seen time in all situations, but he doesn't have a power-play role to begin 2025-26, which will likely limit his offense. He's also on the third line at even strength. On the bright side, Moore is up to 12 shorthanded goals in his career and has scored at least one in each of the last six years.

Kings' Brandt Clarke: Pots tying goal Wednesday
Clarke scored a goal and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
Clarke tied the game at 5-5 with six minutes left in the third period. The 22-year-old defenseman was held off the scoresheet in Tuesday's 4-1 season-opening loss to the Avalanche. He saw just 15:20 of ice time in Wednesday's win compared to 19:03 in the opener, but it looks like he'll generally be trusted with more responsibilities this year as he seeks to reach a new level. Clarke broke out to the tune of 33 points in 78 regular-season games a year ago, though he had just five goals while shooting a lowly 3.8 percent -- he'll need more efficiency to find more success in 2025-26.

Kings' Andrei Kuzmenko: Provides pair of points
Kuzmenko scored a power-play goal on two shots, added an assist and logged two hits in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
Kuzmenko opened the scoring just 4:41 into the game, and he had a hand in Brandt Clarke's game-tying goal in the third period. However, after the tying goal, Kuzmenko received just two shifts. The 29-year-old is penciled in on the top line and showed some talent late in 2024-25 in that spot alongside Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe. Kuzmenko will need to showcase his skill without dipping in performance, as head coach Jim Hiller could give another winger a look in his spot if he slumps too long at any point in the year.

Kings' Quinton Byfield: Pair of points in win
Byfield scored a goal on three shots, dished an assist and added two PIM in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
Byfield looked impressive in most areas, though he went just 5-for-20 at the faceoff dot. His goal came when he picked off a pass and beat Vegas defenseman Jeremy Lauzon down the middle on a partial breakaway. Byfield also set up Brandt Clarke's game-tying tally with six minutes left in the third period. With two points, seven shots and four hits over his first two games of the year, Byfield could be poised to take his game to the next level, especially if he continues to receive steady top-six minutes. He's posted point totals of 55 and 54 over the last two regular seasons, but he could push for 60-plus this year.

Kings' Anton Forsberg: Rough showing in shootout win
Forsberg stopped 30 of 35 shots in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
The Kings' defense wasn't up to par when the Golden Knights' top players were on the ice. Forsberg did what he could, and he got enough support to guide the game to a shootout, where he stopped two of three attempts to claim the win. The 32-year-old netminder should continue to fill the backup role, though it's not clear when he'll get his next start, as the Kings don't have another back-to-back in the next week.

Kings' Anton Forsberg: Getting start in Vegas
Forsberg will guard the road goal versus the Golden Knights on Wednesday, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.
Forsberg will get the second half of the Kings' back-to-back set to open the season. Darcy Kuemper was in net for a 4-1 loss to the Avalanche on Tuesday. This outing will be Forsberg's official Kings debut after he signed with the team in free agency. Given that Los Angeles has two veteran goalies, expect Forsberg to start at least once in every back-to-back set as well as some additional times throughout the year to keep Kuemper fresh.

Kings' Kevin Fiala: Breaks up shutout bid
Fiala scored a power-play goal on three shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Avalanche.
Fiala cashed in during a 5-on-3 situation with 4:54 left in the third period, breaking up Scott Wedgewood's shutout bid. The 29-year-old Fiala set a career high with 35 goals in the 2024-25 regular season, but his overall output was limited to just 60 points. He remains an effective scorer and high-volume shooter who should continue to see ample time in the top six and on the first power-play unit this year.
