Mammoth's Max Psenicka: Expected to be healthy to begin camp

Psenicka (undisclosed) is believed to be healthy for the start of training camp, Brogan Houston of the Deseret News reports Wednesday.
Psenicka exited Saturday's prospects game against the Golden Knights due to an undisclosed injury. However, he will presumably return to the ice soon after general manager Bill Armstrong said Wednesday that the Mammoth aren't dealing with any injuries heading into camp. Psenicka recorded 30 points across 53 regular-season appearances with WHL Portland last year, and he could push for a roster spot with AHL Tucson during training camp.

Psenicka (undisclosed) left Saturday's prospects game versus the Golden Knights, and there was no update on his status after the contest.
Psenicka was injured early in the contest, but with it being the preseason, there is extra caution taken with every injury. The 19-year-old defenseman is coming off a 30-point effort over 53 regular-season games with WHL Portland last year. He could go back to junior in 2026-27, but he is also eligible to play in the AHL with Tucson this year since he is a European player.

Psenicka notched two assists in WHL Portland's 5-0 win over Moose Jaw on Tuesday.
Psenicka earned just his second multi-point effort of the season. He's essentially doubled his scoring pace in 2025-26 with 14 points over 27 outings, compared to seven points in 24 regular-season games last year after joining Portland midseason. The Mammoth prospect, a second-round pick in 2025, may never be a big scorer, but he tracks as a potentially strong shutdown defenseman as a professional.
