  • Bruins' Mason Lohrei: Back at practice Thursday

Lohrei (undisclosed) resumed skating at Thursday's practice, per Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald. Head coach Marco Sturm stated that Lohrei was to underdog additional testing Wednesday for his undisclosed injury, and it seems that the 25-year-old defenseman passed them. Across 73 regular-season games in the 2025-26 campaign, he posted seven goals, 26 points, 72 shots on net and 93 blocked shots. Barring he stays healthy prior to puck drop on opening night, he could be in line for a heightened role during Charlie McAvoy's six-game suspension.

  • Bruins' Mason Lohrei: Undergoing additional testing

Lohrei continues to be evaluated for an undisclosed injury suffered during practice Wednesday, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports. Lohrei had a chance to start the 2026-27 campaign with the No. 1 power-play unit due to Charlie McAvoy's six-game suspension. However, Lohrei's role could be impacted if this injury lingers into the regular season. In 73 regular-season games last year, the 25-year-old blueliner notched seven goals and 19 assists, failing to reach the 30-point mark.

  • Bruins' Mason Lohrei: Tasked with producing more offense

  • Bruins' Mason Lohrei: Manages assist in loss

Lohrei provided an assist in Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Golden Knights. The helper was Lohrei's first point of the year in five appearances. He's playing in a top-four role at even strength, but he's lost the top power-play gig to Charlie McAvoy after filling in for him in that spot last year. Lohrei broke out with 33 points in 77 appearances in 2024-25, but he also had a minus-43 rating. The offense may stagnate in a smaller role, but his defensive play should improve with more experience. However, his lack of physicality makes him tough to roster in some fantasy formats if he's not generating enough offense.
