Kuntar signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Sabres on Wednesday.
Kuntar made his NHL debut with the Sabres on Dec. 11 against Vancouver in 2025-26. However, he spent most of his time in the minors. He recorded 21 goals, 16 assists and 85 PIM across 70 regular-season outings with AHL Rochester. Kuntar could be in the mix to provide depth for the Sabres in 2026-27, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him make the bulk of his appearances in the minors once again.

Kuntar's third season in the AHL has seen him take a step forward with 19 goals and 34 points across 64 appearances. He's earned five points over his last five games for Rochester. Kuntar signed a two-way contract in December and made his NHL debut Dec. 11 versus the Canucks, but he's far from being a full-time option for the Sabres.

Kuntar made his NHL debut Thursday, picking up one hit over 5:12 of ice time. The 24-year-old had nine goals and four helpers in 24 AHL games before his recall. The Sabres recalled Noah Ostlund from Rochester in a corresponding move.
