Sabres' Maxim Strbak: Pens three-year deal
Strbak inked a three-year, entry-level contract with the Sabres on Wednesday.
Strbak is just the latest player from Michigan State to sign his entry-level deal, following Porter Martone and Trey Augustine. In his 37 games for the Spartans this year, the 20-year-old Strbak generated three goals and 15 assists. Strbak should have a chance to secure a spot on the Opening Night roster for the 2026-27 campaign, though he is far from a lock and could wind up in the minors with AHL Rochester.

Sabres' Maxim Strbak: Three points for MSU
Strbak scored a goal and added two assists in Michigan State University's 3-1 win over the University of Minnesota on Friday.
Strbak has had few big moments this season, but this was his best game of the year. He's up to two goals and 11 points through 23 outings for the Spartans this year. A second-round pick of the Sabres in 2023, Strbak projects as more of a shutdown defenseman once he reaches the NHL, though he won't be completely useless in the offensive zone.
