Michkov picked up two assists in a 4-1 win over Nashville on Thursday.
Michkov is off to a slow start this season, but there may be signs of life. This was his first multi-point game of the season, and he has five points (one goal, four assists) and 16 shots in his last seven games. It's modest for a sniper who put up 26 goals and 63 points, including 17 power-play points, in 80 games last season. However, expect Michkov to turn things around soon, even though his average ice time is down from last season (16:41 to 15:04). Fantasy managers could view him as a trade target before his value presumably rises.

Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Nets winner in shootout
Michkov picked up an assist and scored the winner in the shootout in a 4-3 victory over the Islanders on Saturday.
The 20-year-old winger has had a slow start this season with just one goal and two assists in eight outings. However, he has posted all three of his points in the last five games. Michkov is going to be fine. He has been heating up, but his ice time has been all over the map this campaign.

The second-year winger corralled a fluttering puck and ripped it past Connor Hellebuyck late in the third period, but the Flyers were down 4-1 at the time. It was Michkov's first point in four games to begin the season, but the 20-year-old continues to see a regular shift on the power play and has sky-high upside after producing 26 goals and 63 points over 80 regular-season contests in 2024-25 during his NHL debut.

Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Secures rookie goals title
Michkov scored twice on seven shots and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.
Michkov's late burst of offense in the season finale secured the rookie goals title for him this season. He tallied 26 goals, one ahead of San Jose's Macklin Celebrini, and both first-year forwards finished 2024-25 at 63 points. They trailed Montreal blueliner Lane Hutson (66 points) in the overall scoring race. Michkov was as impressive as advertised, but one of those three skaters may not even end up as a Calder Trophy finalist if Calgary goalie Dustin Wolf gets nominated instead. In addition to his 63 points, Michkov racked up 200 shots on net and a minus-18 rating over 80 appearances.

Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Hits 60-point mark
Michkov picked up an assist Saturday in a 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders.
The helper gives Michkov 60 points (24 goals, 36 assists) this season. He's the first Philly rookie to hit that mark since Mikael Renberg had 82 in 1993-94, per Adam Kimelman of NHL.com. Michkov has been sharp over the last few weeks. He reached the scoresheet in eight of his past nine games, collecting four goals, nine assists and 29 shots.

All the game's scoring came in the second period, as the 20-year-old winger had a hand in tallies by Ryan Poehling and Jamie Drysdale. Michkov has produced multiple points in three straight games since John Tortorella was given his pink slip, extending his point streak to six contests in which he's delivered four goals and 11 points. Michkov sits one goal away from 25 on the season and two points shy of 60 -- a mark no Flyers rookie has reached since Mikael Renberg set the franchise record with 82 points in 1993-94.

Michkov's speed and elite talent were on full display on both tallies, and he's put together a five-game point streak in which he's delivered four goals and nine points. Michkov produced two goals and an assist in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Canadiens.
The 20-year-old seemed happy to see the back of coach John Tortorella, who was fired Thursday morning. Michkov opened the scoring less than two minutes into the first period, then potted the Flyers' final goal midway through the third period. He even had a chance at his first career hat trick, but hit the post when taking aim at an empty net. Michkov snapped a 10-game goal drought with the performance, and on the season he's up to 22 goals and 54 points in 72 appearances, putting him two points back of Montreal's Lane Hutson in the rookie scoring race.

Michkov recorded two assists, three shots on goal and two PIM in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Blackhawks.
Michkov is the third rookie to get to 50 points this season. He's earned three helpers over his last two contests following a six-game skid. The rookie winger has 20 goals, 30 assists, 166 shots on net and a minus-15 rating through 70 appearances. Michkov's talent has been evident from the get-go, though he's been prone to some slumps while playing on a more defensive-minded team -- the Flyers are 26th in the league with 2.71 goals per game.

Michkov ended a six-game point drought with the helper. Prior to that skid, he had posted 11 points over a seven-game stretch. Michkov scored at 17:18 of the third period. He came down the left wing and ended Eric Comrie's shutout bid with a shot from the left face-off circle. Michkov was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for February after leading all rookies with five goals and 10 points in seven games. The trio of Michkov, Owen Tippett (two goals) and Sean Couturier (one goal, two assists) had their way with the Oilers, and they all finished with a plus-5 rating.
