Bruins' Frederic Brunet: Gets first career goal on power play
Rotowire
Brunet scored a power-play goal on two shots and added three blocked shots in Friday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.
This was Brunet's first career NHL goal. Both of his points through five outings have come on the power play, and he's added seven shots on net, 11 blocked shots, four hits and a plus-3 rating. The Bruins are currently carrying eight defensemen, so Brunet doesn't have a ton of job security on the third pairing, but he is doing a lot right to help himself stay in the lineup.

Bruins' Frederic Brunet: Logs first NHL point
Rotowire
Brunet picked up a power-play assist, two shots on goal, two hits and four blocked shots in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Mammoth.
Brunet broke camp with the Bruins and has now played in the last two contests. He's logged seven blocked shots, three shots on net and a plus-1 rating in addition to his assist, which was the first point of his NHL career. The 23-year-old defenseman's time on the top power-play unit could be short, as Charlie McAvoy figures to resume that role Tuesday after the conclusion of his suspension. The Bruins could carry eight blueliners moving forward, but that could lead to part-time roles for all of Brunet, Mason Lohrei and Jonathan Aspirot.

Bruins' Frederic Brunet: Three-point showing in AHL
Rotowire
Brunet scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Providence's 6-2 win over Cleveland on Sunday.
Brunet reached the 20-point mark with this performance, doing so in 36 games this season. He has earned six of those points over his last seven outings. Brunet is five points back of his total from 69 regular-season contests last season, and if he continues his strong play, the 22-year-old could play himself into a call-up.
