Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Patrolling home paint
Skinner will start Tuesday's home clash against the Red Wings, per Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports.
Skinner will start his third game in the last five days Tuesday and is looking to bounce back from a regulation loss against the Stars in his most recent outing. Overall, the 27-year-old netminder has a 21-15-9 record, a 2.91 GAA and an .888 save percentage through 45 appearances this season. He'll be matched up against a Red Wings offense that ranks 20th in the NHL with 2.92 goals per game this season.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Yields four goals in loss
Skinner turned away 20 of 24 shots on net in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Stars.
Skinner kept the Stars off the scoresheet in the first period before the visitors responded with a four-goal second period, which ultimately proved to be the difference Saturday. With the loss, he now has a 21-15-9 record, a 2.91 GAA and an .888 save percentage across 45 appearances this season. After a strong stretch of play leading into the Olympic break, the 27-year-old netminder has struggled since with a 2-3-4 record, a 3.35 GAA and an .883 save percentage across his last nine appearances. His next chance to bounce back is Monday's road clash against the Islanders.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Set to start Saturday
Skinner is set to start at home against Dallas on Saturday, per Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site.
Skinner stopped 26 of 29 shots in a 4-3 shootout win over Ottawa on Thursday. He's 21-14-9 with a 2.88 GAA and an .889 save percentage in 44 outings between Edmonton and Pittsburgh this season. A 43-18-11 record in 2025-26 makes Dallas a difficult matchup. However, the Stars have dropped their past four games (0-3-1) while being outscored 13-8 during that span.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Just second win in last nine starts
Skinner made 26 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over the Senators on Thursday.
It was Skinner's second win in a nine-game span dating back to Feb. 3. He is 2-2-5 in that period. In contrast, his platoon mate Arturs Silovs is 6-3-0 in nine starts in the same period. The Pens are committed to this platoon, but the Skinner side is clearly the weaker half. The team will want to hold onto second in the Metropolitan, especially if Sidney Crosby, who suffered a lower-body injury in the game, is out of commission for long.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Starting against Ottawa
Skinner will start Thursday's road game against Ottawa, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Skinner has alternated starts with Arturs Silovs since the Olympic break, and that trend will continue Thursday. Across seven starts since the league's layoff, Skinner has gone 1-2-4 with a 3.33 GAA and .886 save percentage.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Another subpar showing
Skinner allowed four goals on 25 shots faced in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Hurricanes. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Skinner has been slumping badly in recent weeks. He has dropped seven of his last eight starts since the beginning of February while operating in a timeshare with Arturs Silovs, and he's allowed at least four goals in three of his last four during that stretch. With a 3.53 GAA and an .876 save percentage over that eight-game stretch, it's hard to justify Skinner remaining as the No. 1 option between the pipes for the Penguins. Don't be afraid to look at other options to strengthen your goaltending depth ahead of the fantasy playoffs as well, as Skinner is simply not producing enough to remain in a starting role in most formats outside of the very deep leagues.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Between pipes Sunday
Skinner will protect the home net against Carolina on Sunday, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.
Skinner will get the second half of the Penguins' back-to-back after Arturs Silovs played in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over Winnipeg. The 27-year-old Skinner has gone 1-1-4 while allowing 20 goals on 186 shots in six games since returning from the Olympic break. Carolina sits fourth in the league with 3.48 goals per game this season.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Downed in OT
Skinner made 38 saves in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Neither team was able to build more than a one-goal lead during regulation, and Sean Walker finally ended the see-saw affair with 29 seconds left in OT by blasting a one-timer past Skinner. The six goals allowed were a season high for the 27-year-old netminder, but he's given up at least four in four of his last eight starts while working in a strict tandem with Arturs Silovs, going 2-1-5 over that stretch with a shaky 3.63 GAA and .869 save percentage

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Slated to face Carolina
Skinner is expected to start on the road against Carolina on Wednesday, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.
Skinner has allowed at least three goals in each of his past three outings, totaling 10 goals on 89 shots (.888 save percentage) over that stretch. He's 20-13-8 with a 2.78 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 41 outings between Edmonton and Pittsburgh this campaign. Carolina has been a mixed bag recently, going 2-3-0 while averaging 2.80 goals per game over its past five matches.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Yields three goals in win
Skinner stopped 26 of 29 shots in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Mammoth.
Skinner gave up the first two goals of the game as the Penguins' defense was leaky to start the game, but they all improved later in the contest. The 27-year-old netminder had gone winless in his last five outings (0-1-4) while allowing 16 goals, so this was a much-needed performance. Skinner is up to 20-13-8 with a 2.78 GAA and an .891 save percentage over 41 appearances this season, though his numbers have been slightly better with the Penguins than they were with the Oilers. If the Penguins continue their goalie rotation, Skinner could get two consecutive starts against the Eastern Conference's top team, the Hurricanes.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: First goalie off Saturday
Skinner was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate and is slated to defend the road goal against Utah on Saturday, according to Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site.
Skinner is 0-1-4 in his last five starts, allowing 16 goals on 136 shots (.882 save percentage). The netminder is 8-5-4 with a 2.70 GAA and an .891 save percentage over 17 starts with the Penguins. He posted an 11-8-4 mark and an identical .891 save percentage over 23 games with the Oilers before a Dec. 12 trade from Edmonton. The Mammoth are averaging 3.11 goals per game in 2025-26, which ranks 17th in the NHL.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Busy in shootout loss Tuesday
Skinner turned aside 39 shots in regulation and overtime and one of three shootout attempts in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Carolina.
The Penguins needed two late goals in the third period just to force overtime, as they were outshot 43-28 on the night, but their luck ran out in the shootout. Skinner is winless over his last five starts, going 0-1-4 with a 3.08 GAA and an .881 save percentage. He remains stuck on 19 wins for the season.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Between pipes against Canes
Skinner will tend the twine on the road versus Carolina on Tuesday, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports.
Skinner and fellow backstop Arturs Silovs have been splitting the workload for much of the season, a trend fantasy managers can expect will likely continue down the stretch. The 27-year-old Skinner is currently mired in a four-game losing streak, having gone 0-1-3 with a 2.90 GAA over that stretch. He'll face an uphill battle trying to secure his 20th win of the year with both Sidney Crosby (lower body) and Evgeni Malkin (suspension) unavailable.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Four-game losing streak
Skinner made 12 saves Saturday in a 4-3 shootout loss to Philadelphia.
Skinner is 0-1-3 in his last four starts; he has allowed 12 goals in that span (0.857). Prior to that, Skinner won eight of his previous nine games. He has a 2.63 GAA with Pittsburgh this season, which is about as strong as he's had at any point in his career. However, Skinner's .889 save percentage in black and gold is his worst result, other than in the single game he played in 2020-21.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Facing Flyers
Skinner will protect the home net against Philadelphia on Saturday, according to Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site.
Skinner has gone 0-1-2 in his last three outings while allowing nine goals on 76 shots. Since being acquired from Edmonton on Dec. 12, he has posted a record of 8-5-2 with a 2.62 GAA and an .893 save percentage in 15 appearances for Pittsburgh. Philadelphia ranks 25th in the league with 2.80 goals per game this season.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Better in black and gold
Skinner made 26 saves in a 2-1 loss to Boston on Tuesday.
Skinner was strong, aside from the two goals he allowed in a 50-second span in the first period. Skinner went into the break with a 4-0-1 record, but he's 0-1-1 in two games since the return. Skinner has been a better netminder in Pittsburgh's system than he was in Edmonton's run-and-gun.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Exits ice first Tuesday
Skinner was the first goalie to leave the ice Tuesday, Dan Potash of Sportsnet Pittsburgh reports, indicating he'll tend the twine on the road against Boston.
Skinner is undefeated in regulation over his last seven outings, posting a 5-0-2 record to go with a 2.96 GAA. Despite his solid numbers, the 27-year-old netminder could still find himself relegated to the No. 2 role due to Arturs Silovs' three-game winning streak that includes a shutout win his last time out. For now, the duo seems likely to continue to split the workload, featuring in every other contest.

Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Winning streak ends
Skinner made 23 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Rangers on Saturday.
Skinner hasn't lost in regulation since Jan. 11, and he's 5-0-2 in his last seven outings. He has also gone 8-1-2 since Christmas. Skinner allowed 12 goals in his first three games in Pittsburgh, but since then, he has allowed two or fewer goals in seven of 11 games. Skinner has a 2.76 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 37 appearances this season between the Penguins and Oilers.
