Penguins' Sebastian Aho: Placed on waivers
Aho landed on the waiver wire Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Aho was facing an uphill battle to secure a spot on the Opening Night roster, so his placement on waivers shouldn't come as a surprise. Given the team's up-and-coming youngsters on the blue line, including Owen Pickering and Harrison Brunicke, the 29-year-old Aho is unlikely to see much ice time in the NHL this year.

Penguins' Sebastian Aho: Back in NHL
Aho was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday, according to Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports.
Aho was loaned to the Baby Pens earlier in the day and was quickly called back up by Pittsburgh. The Penguins have six healthy blueliners at this time as Ryan Shea will miss Saturday's tilt against New Jersey, and Aho will likely be their seventh rearguard. Aho has yet to play in the NHL this season and had seven assists in 17 games at the AHL level before his recall.

Penguins' Sebastian Aho: Returned to minors
Aho was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
With Ryan Shea (upper body) not expected back any time soon, Aho could be called back up prior to Saturday's matchup against the Devils -- though Jack St. Ivany or Owen Pickering could also be options for a promotion to the NHL roster. Even if the Pens bring Aho back up, he is unlikely to break into the lineup ahead of Ryan Graves or Conor Timmins.

Penguins' Sebastian Aho: Promoted from minors
Aho was called up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday under emergency conditions.
Aho's addition to the NHL roster would seem to indicate that there is an injury on the Penguins' blue line other than Pierre-Olivier Joseph (upper body), who is already on injured reserve. With the addition of Conor Timmins at the trade deadline, minutes will likely be hard to come by for Aho the rest of the way.
