  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Posts 19-save shutout

Gustavsson posted a 19-save shutout in Friday's 5-0 win over the Penguins. Gustavsson has earned wins while posting a save percentage of at least .920 in his last two outings. The 27-year-old seems to be turning things around after a couple of subpar showings in recent weeks. Gustavsson has a .921 save percentage while going 4-1-1 in six November appearances.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Expected to start Friday

Gustavsson is expected to start Friday's road game against Pittsburgh, Wild broadcaster Joe O'Donnell reports. Gustavsson has lost out on some playing time recently, as Friday's start will be just his third over Minnesota's last seven games. However, he's been effective across his past two outings, going 1-0-1 with a 1.88 GAA and .907 save percentage. The Penguins have been decent offensively this year, ranking ninth in the league with 3.26 goals per game. Gustavsson started at home against the Penguins on Oct. 30, turning aside 30 of 33 shots (.909 save percentage) en route to a 4-1 loss.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Picks up overtime win

Gustavsson stopped 23 of 25 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Golden Knights. Both goals Gustavsson gave up came on Vegas power plays. He had lost his last two outings (0-1-1) while allowing a total of six goals on 45 shots in that span. For the season, Gustavsson has a 5-7-2 record with a 2.99 GAA and an .897 save percentage over 14 starts. He's getting a little bit of pressure from Jesper Wallstedt, who has posted a shutout in each of his last two starts, which could force the Wild's crease into more of a timeshare situation. The Wild have a tough matchup ahead as they host the Hurricanes on Wednesday.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Slated starter for Sunday

Gustavsson is slated to start at home against Vegas on Sunday, per Michael Russo of The Athletic on Saturday. Jesper Wallstedt will guard the home goal against Anaheim on Saturday, and Gustavsson will get the second half of the back-to-back set. The 27-year-old Gustavsson has a 4-7-2 record, 3.08 GAA and .896 save percentage in 13 outings this season. Going into Saturday's action, Vegas is 7-4-5 and ranks 14th in goals per game with 3.19.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Loses in overtime

Gustavsson stopped 16 of 18 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Sharks. Gustavsson was given a couple of games off to reset following a 2-2-1 stretch in which he allowed 15 goals on 143 shots (.895 save percentage). The 27-year-old wasn't able to make a one-goal lead stick in this contest, as Will Smith scored a power-play tally in the third period and Collin Graf netted the game-winner in overtime. Gustavsson is down to 4-7-2 with a 3.09 GAA and an .896 save percentage over 13 outings. It's too soon to say Gustavsson is losing his grip on the starting job, but Jesper Wallstedt has won his last two starts and could start earning extra playing time soon. The Wild will need both goalies this weekend in a pair of tough home matchups, as they are set to host the Ducks on Saturday and the Golden Knights on Sunday.

Gustavsson is slated to start at home against the Sharks on Tuesday, per Joe Smith of The Athletic. Gustavsson is 2-2-1 in his last five appearances, stopping 128 of 143 shots during that stretch (.895 save percentage). The Swedish goaltender will have his hands full Tuesday against a San Jose club that is 4-0-1 in its last five games, with impressive wins over Colorado, Seattle, Winnipeg and Florida. The Sharks are tied for eighth in the NHL with 3.31 goals per game this season.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Grabs win over Nashville

Gustavsson stopped 32 of 34 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Predators. Gustavsson nearly had the win in regulation, but Steven Stamkos was able to score within the final second of the third period. The Wild still came away victorious after Marcus Johansson was awarded a goal in overtime when Justus Annunen dislodged the net. Odd happenings aside, Gustavsson has won two games in a row for the first time all year, allowing just four goals on 62 shots in that span. He's at a 4-6-1 record with a 3.11 GAA and a .900 save percentage through 11 appearances. The Wild have a road back-to-back coming up, with visits to the Hurricanes on Thursday and the Islanders on Friday, so Gustavsson and Jesper Wallstedt can be expected to split those games.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: In goal Tuesday

Gustavsson will patrol the home blue paint Tuesday versus the Predators, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic. Gustavsson snapped a four-game losing streak in a 5-2 win over Vancouver on Saturday, making 26 saves on 28 shots in the process. The Swedish netminder will look to continue putting his early-season struggles in the past, as the Wild have the rest advantage Tuesday -- Nashville lost to Vancouver by a 5-4 score in overtime Monday. The Predators also sit 29th in the NHL with 2.57 goals per game this year.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Beaten by Penguins

Gustavsson stopped 30 of 33 shots in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Penguins. The fourth goal was an empty-netter late in the third period. There wasn't much Gustavsson could've done on any of the three goals he allowed -- one was a tip-in, another one came on the power play, and the remaining one was a furious slap shot. The 27-year-old has been slumping of late, going 0-3-1 over his last four starts while allowing at least three goals in each outing during that stretch.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Rough start continues

Gustavsson allowed four goals on just 22 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss against Winnipeg. It was another tough night for Gustavsson, who dropped his third straight start as Minnesota's struggles continued. The 26-year-old has now allowed four or more goals in four of his eight outings, falling to a 2-5-1 record. Despite the rough stretch, he remains firmly entrenched as the Wild's No. 1 goaltender after his strong 2024-25 campaign. He'll aim to get back on track Thursday in a challenging matchup against a surging Pittsburgh team.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: In goal against Winnipeg

Gustavsson will defend the home cage Tuesday versus the Jets, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports. Gustavsson has struggled during the early portion of 2025-26, as he's lost four of his last five outings, which puts him at 2-5-0 with one shutout, a 3.34 GAA and an .897 save percentage through seven appearances on the season. The task won't get any easier against a Winnipeg team that is 6-3-0 and has generated 3.33 goals per game this year, which is tied for 11th in the league.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Stomped by Mammoth

Gustavsson stopped 35 of 40 shots in Saturday's 6-2 loss to Utah, with the Mammoth's final goal getting scored into an empty net. Utah scored three times in the first five minutes of the first period, and Minnesota never recovered. It's the third time in seven starts that Gustavsson has surrendered five or more goals, and after alternating good and bad seasons over the last few years, it's beginning to look like he's headed for another bad one. Through seven outings to begin 2025-26, Gustavsson is 2-5-0 with a 3.34 GAA and an .897 save percentage.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Tagged with loss Wednesday

Gustavsson stopped 31 of 34 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Devils. The fourth goal was an empty-netter with 1:17 left in the third period. Minnesota was pushing for a late comeback by the time Jesper Bratt scored the Devils' fourth goal. Gustavsson has posted a save percentage above .910 in his last two games after struggling in his previous appearances, but the Wild's defensive issues will continue to limit his fantasy upside. All things considered, Gustavsson has gone 2-4-0 with a 3.03 GAA and a .902 save percentage through six games in 2025-26, stopping 165 of the 183 shots he's faced. It's still early in the season, but those numbers represent a downgrade compared to what he did in 2024-25 (2.56 GAA, .914 save percentage).

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Starting Friday

Gustavsson will be between the visiting pipes in Washington on Friday, according to Joe Smith of The Athletic. Gustavsson has given up nine goals on 54 shots in his last two games after he shut out St. Louis on Opening Night. He has an .888 save percentage in three games this season. The Capitals are averaging only 2.25 goals this season, 29th in the NHL.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Falls to Stars

Gustavsson stopped 20 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Stars. The last two goals were empty-netters. Gustavsson fell to 1-2-0 on the year after getting no help from his teammates in the first two periods. The Wild pushed back in the third but failed to find an equalizer. With nine goals allowed on 80 shots over three games, Gustavsson's performance has been closer to mediocre than excellent on the whole. Jesper Wallstedt beat the Kings on Monday and could carve out a larger role if Gustavsson experiences an extended slump. The Wild continue their road trip with a back-to-back against the Capitals on Friday and the Flyers on Saturday, which should allow each goalie to get a start.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Between pipes Tuesday

Gustavsson will protect the road goal versus the Stars on Tuesday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Gustavsson has worked at both extremes this season, earning a shutout win over the Blues on Thursday in his first game before allowing six goals on 31 shots Saturday versus the Blue Jackets. The 27-year-old will get his toughest test yet against a Stars team that has scored nine times over two games.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Set to start Thursday

Gustavsson is expected to start on the road against St. Louis on Thursday, per Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Gustavsson had a 31-19-6 record, 2.56 GAA and .914 save percentage in 58 regular-season appearances with the Wild last year. He's got a good chance of getting a similar workload in 2025-26, and it's plausible that he'll hit the 30-win mark again thanks in no small part to the strength of the team in front of him.

Gustavsson was outstanding in 2024-25, posting a 31-19-6 record with five shutouts, a 2.56 GAA and a .914 save percentage across 58 regular-season appearances. Gustavsson is getting a second opportunity to shake off the rust after allowing three goals on 20 shots en route to a 4-1 loss to Chicago in an exhibition game Sunday. The 27-year-old Gustavsson is expected to open up the campaign as Minnesota's No. 1 netminder.
