  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Leaving road trip

Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said Sunday that Jankowski has ben sent back to Raleigh to have his lower-body injury assessed, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Jankowski was a late scratch for Sunday's 3-2 loss in Calgary and is now unlikely to be available until after Carolina's current road trip concludes, which will be Saturday in St. Louis. As a result of Jankowski returning home, it wouldn't be surprising to see him land on injured reserve in the near future. While the Hurricanes have lost several forwards due to injury recently, the team is expected to have Seth Jarvis (shoulder) return to the lineup soon, as Brind'Amour said Friday that he's hopeful Jarvis will be able to play at some point during this road trip. Nicolas Deslauriers got back into the lineup Sunday due to Jankowski's absence.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Not suiting up Sunday

Jankowski will not play in Calgary on Sunday due to a lower-body injury. The Hurricanes' forward depth is certainly being tested early in the season, as Jankowski is now one of four forwards unavailable due to injury. The 32-year-old has been red hot lately, scoring a goal in six straight games. The severity of Jankowski's injury is unknown at this time, so he can be considered questionable for Tuesday's matchup in Vancouver.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Stays hot in Saturday's win

Jankowski scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Jets. The 32-year-old center continued his remarkable run, getting Carolina on the board midway through the second period with a quick shot through traffic past Clay Stevenson. Jankowski has found the back of the net in six straight games -- not bad for a bottom-six player who scored a grand total of 11 goals over 68 regular-season games in 2025-26. Saturday's tally was also Jankowski's first power-play goal since 2017-18 with the Flames, and just the third of his career. He is getting extra shifts and opportunities with Jordan Staal (calf) on the shelf, but shooting at a 40.0 percent rate simply isn't sustainable.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Goal streak at five games

Jankowski score a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Capitals. Jankowski extended his scoring streak to five games (five goals, one assist). And with news of Jordan Staal's (calf) multi-month absense, the pivot is going to see continued opportunity and ice time. Jankowski's face-off effectiveness is less than ideal (44.4 percent), but he could provide depth offense in deep formats.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Stays hot with insurance goal

Jankowski scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Flyers. Jankowski has scored in four straight games, and he also has an assist in that span to account for all of his offense on the year. The 32-year-old's hot offense has made him a mainstay in the Hurricanes' bottom six over Nicolas Deslauriers. Jordan Staal (lower body) was out Sunday, allowing Jankowski to move up to the third line. The offense won't last, but Jankowski's defensive efforts and reliable on-ice play make him a fixture in the lineup.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Extends goal streak Saturday

Jankowski tallied a goal and placed three shots on net in Saturday's 5-2 win over Chicago. Jankowski is currently on fire, as he used Saturday's clash to secure the first three-game goal streak of his 10-year NHL career. Across six games to open the 2026-27 campaign, the 32-year-old winger has four points, seven shots on net, a plus-1 rating and six hits. Since being acquired by the Hurricanes midway through the 2024-25 season, the veteran winger has been turning back the clock and reverting to his previous goal-scoring ways. If he can carry his current momentum into the rest of the 2026-27 regular season, Jankowski could be in for his third-consecutive campaign with double-digit goals.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Scores again in Thursday's win

Jankowski scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Canucks. Jankowski has three points this season, all coming over the last two games. He's added four shots on net, six hits, two blocked shots and a plus-1 rating across five appearances. Jankowski's place in the bottom six looks secure for now, as it's more likely for Jesperi Kotkaniemi or Nicolas Deslauriers to be out of the lineup as the healthy scratch.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Finds twine for tying goal

Jankowski scored a goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Jankowski's tally helped the Hurricanes erase a 2-0 deficit. It was his first goal of the postseason, to go with four assists, 12 shots on net, 14 hits, 12 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 15 appearances. Jankowski is firmly locked in as the Hurricanes' fourth-line center, so there won't always be a ton of scoring chances for him.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Provides two assists in win

Jankowski logged two assists in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Canadiens in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Jankowski had a hand in the first and last goals of the contest. The 31-year-old center hasn't scored a goal this postseason, but he's picked up three assists over 10 outings while adding seven shots on net, 11 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. Jankowski continues to be a key part of the Hurricanes' bottom six and penalty kill, and that role was enough to get him a two-year contract extension May 11.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Deposits game-winner

Jankowski scored a goal and blocked three shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Islanders. Jankowski has three goals over his last three games. The 31-year-old played a larger role while the Hurricanes rotated some players out of the lineup over the last week of the season. Expect Jankowski to be a regular on the fourth line in the playoffs, though Jesperi Kotkaniemi could come in if Jankowski struggles. Over 68 appearances this season, Jankowski produced 21 points -- the most he has had since his 32-point year with the Flames in 2018-19. He also added 63 shots on net, 45 hits, 45 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating across 68 appearances.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Returning to action Monday

Jankowski sat out Saturday's game against the Mammoth for an undisclosed reason, but he'll return to action two days later. The Hurricanes appear to be managing his workload late in the regular season, and while it's unclear whether he'll play in Tuesday's regular-season finale against the Islanders, he should be available for the start of the playoffs.

Jankowski (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup against the Mammoth on Saturday. Jankowski has 10 goals, 20 points, 61 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and 44 hits in 66 contests this season. He is day-to-day and probably getting some rest ahead of the start of the playoffs.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Deposits pair of goals in win

Overall, he has 20 points, 61 shots on net, 44 hits and 41 blocked shots across 66 games this season. Jankowski has stepped up his game down the stretch with five goals over his last 16 games, giving him some fantasy viability in deep leagues.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Goals in back-to-back games

Jankowski scored the Hurricanes' only goal in a 3-1 loss to St. Louis on Thursday. Jankowski intercepted a Blues' pass in the neutral zone, made a move around the defender in the right circle, and he then roofed a shot over Jordan Binnington's blocker as he cut to the ice. Jankowski has a goal in each of his last two games. He has seven goals, nine assists and 47 shots in 52 games this season.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Pots opening goal Saturday

Jankowski tallied a goal and recorded three hits in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Washington. Jankowski continued his solid month of scoring Saturday with the opening tally just over 13 minutes into regulation. Over his last 11 games, the 31-year-old center has three goals and six points, which ties him for eighth on the team. With Saturday's twine finder, he is up to five goals, 12 points, 37 shots on net, 29 hits and 29 blocked shots across 42 games this season. While he continues to heat up slowly, Jankowski is on track to post the third-highest point total of his nine-year NHL career. He had 17 points in 60 regular-season games between Nashville and Carolina a year ago. He is worth keeping tabs on as a potential streaming option in the deepest of fantasy leagues if he continues to find the scoresheet down the stretch.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Three points including GWG

Jankowski scored the game-winning goal and added two assists, one on the power play, in Friday's 9-1 rout of the Panthers. It was the bottom-six center's first multi-point performance of the season, and his helper on a third-period goal by Taylor Hall was his first power-play point of 2025-26. Jankowski hasn't produced more than 17 points in a campaign since 2018-19 with the Flames, but he's quietly picked up four goals and 10 points through 36 games this season.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Scores in loss vs. Pittsburgh

Jankowski scored a goal and took two shots in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Penguins. Jankowski posted his second goal of the season with a wrister late in the second period, and that goal prevented Stuart Skinner from securing a shutout. Jankowski has two goals and four assists in 28 games this season. The 31-year-old center, who plays in a bottom-six role in the lineup, doesn't produce enough in fantasy to warrant consideration in most standard formats.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Draws assist Saturday

Jankowski recorded an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Lightning. Jankowski went eight games without a point, and he was scratched twice in that span. The 31-year-old likely won't be in the lineup when the Hurricanes are fully healthy, but he has some time to play now that Seth Jarvis (upper body) is on injured reserve. For the season, Jankowski has five points, 22 shots on net, 16 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 24 outings as a defensive specialist in a bottom-six role.

Jankowski scored the game-winning goal in Monday's 3-1 win over the Bruins. Jankowski's first goal of the season put the Hurricanes ahead 2-0 in the second period. The 31-year-old looks to have a path to playing time again while Jesperi Kotkaniemi (ankle) is out of action. In a part-time role this year, Jankowski has put up three points, seven shots on net, six blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-3 rating through 10 outings.
