  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Two-point effort in win

Malkin produced a goal and an assist in Monday's 6-3 win over the Blues. The Penguins' second line of Malkin, Anthony Mantha and Justin Brazeau continues to be a force, combining for two goals and five points Monday. Malkin has gotten onto the scoresheet in seven straight contests, with multi-point performances in four of them, and through 10 games, he's erupted for three goals and 16 points.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Two helpers against Columbus

Malkin pocketed two assists in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets. The 39-year-old center extended his point streak to six games with the performance, but Malkin was also the goat on the night as he was the only skater to misfire during a three-round shootout, with his shot from the slot sailing high over Elvis Merzlikins' glove. Malkin has had a dazzling start to his 20th NHL campaign, racking up two goals and 14 points in nine contests, including one goal and four assists on the power play.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Five-game, seven-point streak

Malkin delivered two assists Thursday in a 5-3 win over the Panthers. The points stretched Malkin's scoring streak to five games and seven points (two goals, five assists). Malkin's output dropped to 50 points (68 games) last season, but the 39-year-old looks rejuvenated this year, and he already has 12 points, including 10 helpers, in eight contests.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Goal, assist in Saturday's win

Malkin scored an empty-net goal, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Sharks. Malkin has scored in back-to-back games and has multiple points in three of six outings this season. He helped out on an Anthony Mantha goal earlier in the third period before scoring his empty-netter in the final minute. Malkin has two goals, seven helpers, 12 shots on net, three hits and a plus-1 rating to begin 2025-26. He'll likely have some ups and downs throughout the campaign, but he's worth rostering in fantasy as long as his offense stays up.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Strikes on power play in win

Malkin scored a power-play goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Kings. Malkin has started 2025-26 in good form, but his goal at 6:37 of the second period was his first of the campaign. The 39-year-old has added six assists, 11 shots on net and a minus-1 rating over five contests while getting on the scoresheet in four of them. While age-related declines on offense have been noticeable in the last few years, Malkin is still highly talented, so bursts of production shouldn't be too shocking.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Pockets three helpers in win

Malkin delivered three assists, two on the power play, in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Islanders. After helping the Pens take advantage of power-play situations in the first and second periods, Malkin made his biggest impact on the game when he sprung Justin Brazeau for the game-winner late in the third. There has been some suggestion 2025-26 will be Malkin's last season in the NHL, but the 39-year-old isn't playing like someone whose tank is nearly empty -- he's come flying out of the gates this season with five helpers in Pittsburgh's first two games.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Two assists on Opening Night

Malkin delivered two assists in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Rangers. Malkin set up both of Justin Brazeau's goals -- a perfect backhander in the first period and an empty-netter in the final frame with 2:12 left in the game. Malkin might be past his prime, but the veteran center remains a productive player even if he's no longer the elite forward he was during his prime years. Malkin recorded 16 goals and 34 assists across 68 regular-season contests in 2024-25.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: One of each Friday

Malkin scored a goal on five shots and added a power-play assist in Friday's 4-2 win over the Devils. Malkin got the Penguins on the board at 16:10 of the first period. He also set up Valtteri Puustinen's tally in the second. With a goal and three assists over four contests since returning from an upper-body injury, Malkin is putting together a strong end to the campaign. The veteran center is up to 16 goals, 50 points (16 on the power play), 121 shots on net, 48 blocked shots, 40 PIM and a minus-23 rating over 66 appearances in a second-line role.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Pockets helper in return

Malkin notched a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Stars. Making his return after a four-game absence due to an upper-body injury, Malkin wasted little time making an impact as he set up Sidney Crosby for the afternoon's first goal early in the first period. The 38-year-old Malkin is nearing the end of his Hall of Fame career -- after not missing a game in each of the prior two seasons, he has suited up for only 63 of Pittsburgh's 77 contests so far in 2024-25, producing 15 goals and 47 points.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Set to play

Malkin (upper body) will return to the lineup against Dallas on Saturday. Following a four-game absence, Malkin will return to a top-six role and see power-play time versus the Stars on Saturday. He has generated 15 goals, 46 points and 108 shots on net in 62 appearances this season. Malkin will replace Joona Koppanen in Saturday's lineup.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Game-time call Saturday

Malkin (upper body) will be a game-time decision ahead of Saturday's clash with Dallas, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports. Malkin was hitting his offensive stride prior to his four-game absence, recording three goals and two assists, including three power-play points, in his previous seven outings. If he suits up Saturday, Malkin should reclaim his spot on the second line in addition to linking up with one of the power-play units.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Won't play versus Blues

Malkin (upper body) skated Thursday but won't be in the lineup against St. Louis, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports. Malkin will be sidelined for his fourth consecutive contest due to his lingering upper-body issue. The veteran center was finding his stride offensively prior to getting hurt with three points and two helpers, including three power-play points, in his last seven outings. Until Malkin is given the all-clear, Rickard Rakell looks set to remain in the center position.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Traveling with team

Malkin (upper body) will join the Penguins on their three-game road trip that kicks off in St. Louis on Thursday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports. Malkin hasn't started practicing with the team yet, and while it's a good sign that he'll be traveling with the team, it likely means he won't be ready for Thursday's tilt -- though he hasn't been officially ruled out by the team. Still, the fact that Malkin will be on the trip bodes well for him rejoining the lineup sooner rather than later. Once Malkin returns, he should step into his usual No. 2 center role, which will allow Rickard Rakell to shift back to the wing.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Won't play against Ottawa

Malkin (upper body) won't be in the lineup versus the Senators on Sunday, according to Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff. Malkin will miss his third straight game. Based on Saturday's practice, Rickard Rakell will center the second line against Ottawa. Malkin has collected 15 goals, 46 points and 108 shots on net in 62 appearances this season. His next chance to play will be against St. Louis on Thursday.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Not playing Thursday

Malkin (upper body) won't play against Buffalo on Thursday, per Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site. Malkin will miss his second straight game, and Kevin Hayes could center the second line again versus the Sabres. The 38-year-old Malkin has generated 15 goals, 46 points and 108 shots on net in 62 appearances this season. His next chance to play will be against Ottawa on Sunday.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Not available Tuesday

Malkin (upper body) won't play versus the Lightning on Tuesday. Malkin did not take the ice for warmups, which indicates he will be absent. It's unclear when Malkin sustained the injury, as he scored in Sunday's game against the Panthers and played 20:04 in that contest. The Penguins will get Emil Bemstrom back from an undisclosed injury, while Kevin Hayes will get the promotion to the second line in Malkin's stead.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Finds twine on power play

Malkin netted a power-play goal in Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to Florida. Malkin found the back of the net on a second-period power play to give the Penguins an early 3-1 lead. The 38-year-old vet is up to 15 goals, 46 points and 108 shots on net in 62 appearances this season. While Malkin has struggled at times to find the back of the net this season, he has goals in back-to-back games and six lamp-lighters in his past 14 appearances. His improved play down the stretch makes the 19-year NHL superstar a solid play in most fantasy formats while the Penguins make a long-shot run toward an Eastern Conference playoff spot.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Tallies in Friday's win

Malkin scored a goal on four shots in Friday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jackets. Malkin has two goals and two helpers over his last six contests, and he's added 12 shots on net, 10 PIM and a plus-3 rating in that span. The 38-year-old got a stick on a rebound to open the scoring at 5:28 of the first period. He hasn't been anywhere near his peak this season, but Malkin is at 14 goals, 31 assists, 106 shots on net, 46 blocked shots, 40 PIM and a minus-21 rating over 61 appearances. He will likely remain in a second-line role to close out the campaign.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Scores power-play goal

Malkin tallied a power-play goal, took three shots on net and had four PIM in Sunday's 3-1 win over Minnesota. Malkin lit the lamp on the power play for Sunday's first goal of the game. Overall, the 38-year-old center is up to 13 goals, 42 points and 97 shots on target in 56 appearances this season. While the 2024-25 season has been another year of decline for Malkin, he has been solid since his return from a lower-body injury with eight points in nine games. His recent play gives him good value in all formats in fantasy for the rest of the season. He should land in the 50-55-point range by the end of the year at his current pace but could contend for 60 with a few big performances.

The veteran forward has recorded points in three of his four outings since the break, tallying three goals and four assists over that stretch.
