Kraig Urbik: Calls it quits after nine seasons
Urbik announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday via a post on his personal Twitter account.
Urbik, a 2009 third-round pick, spent nine years in the NFL with the Steelers, Bills and Dolphins, appearing in 100 regular-season contests (63 starts). The 32-year-old didn't suit up in 2017 after the Dolphins cut him in training camp while he was tending to a knee injury. Urbik noted that his slow recovery from the injury played a factor in his decision to retire, as he didn't believe he was capable of performing at the level he had in previous years.

Kraig Urbik: Released with injury settlement
The Dolphins released Urbik (knee) with an injury settlement Saturday.
The veteran interior lineman was expected to serve as a backup for the Dolphins this season, but multiple injuries have kept him on the sidelines during camp. Now a free agent, Urbik is available to sign with another squad.

Dolphins' Kraig Urbik: Likely out for season opener
Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Monday that Urbik will likely miss the team's season opener due to a knee injury, Jason Lieser of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Urbik previously sat out Thursday's preseason game against the Ravens due to the back injury, but now it looks like it's his knee that is his greater concern. The Dolphins are tabbing Urbik for backup duties at center behind Mike Pouncey to begin the campaign.

Dolphins' Kraig Urbik: Does not play Thursday
Urbik did not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Ravens due to a back injury, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Urbik's injury is not expected to be a serious one, and the Dolphins are likely just remaining cautious with the veteran guard midway through the preseason.
