The Patriots waived Blankumsee on Wednesday.
Blankumsee signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in late April, but he will now be on the lookout for a new team once he clears waivers. He posted 98 catches for 1,578 yards and 13 touchdowns over his final two college seasons with Memphis.
