Quentin Skinner: Let go by Buffalo
The Bills waived Skinner on Saturday.
The Bills claimed Skinner off waivers from the Jets in mid-July. The wide receiver was unable to win a reserve role in the team's corps, being surpassed by younger players with draft capital invested in them, such as Keon Coleman (foot) and Skyler Bell. Skinner will now be subject to waivers through Monday due to Sunday's cutdown day. If the 24-year-old goes unclaimed, he will become a free agent able to sign with any franchise's 53-man roster or practice squad.

Bills' Quentin Skinner: Claimed by Bills
Buffalo claimed Skinner (undisclosed) off waivers Tuesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Skinner was waived from IR by the Jets on Monday, but he will stick around in the AFC East after being claimed by the Bills. Presumably now healthy, Skinner will spend training camp competing for a reserve role at wide receiver with his new team. He made one regular-season appearance with New York in 2025.

Skinner was initially waived with an injury designation in early June, and he reverted to IR after going unclaimed. That could have resulted in the wideout being ineligible to play in 2026, but after being waived Monday he'll now be free to sign with another organization once he's healthy.

Skinner (undisclosed) reverted from waivers to the Jets' injured reserve list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Skinner went unclaimed after being waived with an injury designation Monday, and he'll have to miss the entire 2026 season unless he negotiates an injury settlement. The undrafted wideout out of Kansas made his NFL debut in 2025, catching his only target for 10 yards in Week 18 against the Bills.

The 24-year-old from Kansas joined the Jets' practice squad in late August after failing to make the initial 53-man roster, but he's now been elevated ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Patriots. Skinner has yet to make his NFL debut after posting 557 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 25 catches during his final collegiate season in 2024.

Jets' Quentin Skinner: Scores team's only TD Saturday
Skinner caught all four of his targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 31-12 preseason loss to the Giants.
Skinner is one of the few Jets who managed to raise his stock in what was an ugly second preseason game for most of the team. He caught a four-yard touchdown pass from fellow undrafted rookie Brady Cook in the fourth quarter. Skinner's a long shot to make the 53-man roster, but he has a decent chance of sticking as a member of the practice squad with the Jets in 2025.
