Patriots' Efton Chism: Appears in eight games as rookie
Chism caught three passes for 75 yards and a touchdown across eight regular-season games during the 2025 season.
Chism joined the team as an undrafted free agent last May and was able to earn a spot on the active roster but saw only limited action on offense for most of the season. The 24-year-old didn't record his first reception until Week 17 and will look to earn a larger role in New England's offense during the 2026 season.

Patriots' Efton Chism: In street clothes Sunday
Chism (coach's decision) is a healthy inactive for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Broncos.
Chism had suited up for both of the Patriots' final two games of the regular season as well as the first two contests of the postseason, but he'll sit out with New England welcoming fellow wideout Mack Hollins (abdomen) back from injured reserve for Sunday's contest in Denver. The rookie receiver had also contributed on kickoff returns during the playoffs, but those duties will likely fall to D'Ernest Johnson and Kyle Williams in the AFC Championship Game.

Patriots' Efton Chism: Finishes with three regular-season catches
Chism finished the 2025 regular season with three catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in eight games.
Chism also logged 16 kickoff returns in that span for 383 yards. While the 24-year-old slot man, who joined the team as an undrafted rookie out of Eastern Washington, didn't make much of a statistical impact as a rookie, he's a player who figures to stick around as a depth WR/returner in 2026. Whether Chism makes more of an impact as a receiver in his second NFL campaign hinges on the team's offseason moves, but as things stand, fellow WRs Stefon Diggs, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams and DeMario Douglas are under contract with New England next season.

Patriots' Efton Chism: Logs TD versus Jets
Chism caught both of his targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 42-10 win over the Jets.
Chism logged a season-high 41 snaps on offense in the contest, with the absences of Kayshon Boutte (concussion) and Mack Hollins (abdomen) and slot man DeMario Douglas being limited to nine snaps due to a hamstring issue both being factors in Chism's elevated playing time. Though Boutte may be back for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Dolphins, Chism's expanded role could carry into Week 18, especially if Douglas continues to manage his hamstring injury. With the No. 1 seed in the AFC still within their grasp, however, the Patriots are unlikely to rest key players ahead of the postseason and give even bigger roles to youngsters like Chism.

Patriots' Efton Chism: Contributes as returner
Chism was on the field for two of 64 snaps on offense in Sunday's 25-19 win over the Saints, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Sunday's contest represented the regular-season debut for Chism, who made his mark while logging 12 special teams snaps and returned five kickoffs for 129 yards. The rookie wideout could keep the primary kickoff returner role with Antonio Gibson out for the season due to a torn ACL.

Patriots' Efton Chism: Inactive for opener
Chism is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Raiders.
Chism secured a roster spot with a strong preseason, but his NFL regular-season debut is on hold for now. In Week 1, Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams will handle the Patriots' WR duties.

Patriots' Efton Chism: Logs full practice
Chism (knee) practiced fully Wednesday.
The Patriots list the injury that Chism had been dealing with as a knee issue, but either way, the UDFA out of Eastern Washington will be available for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Raiders. On the heels of an impressive preseason, Chism secured a spot on the 53-man roster, but at least initially look for the rookie slot man to work in a depth role in a wideout corps that also includes Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams.

Patriots' Efton Chism: Makes 53-man roster
The Patriots informed Chism (foot/ankle) on Tuesday that he's made the initial 53-man roster, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports.
Chism has successfully defied the odds after going undrafted out of Eastern Washington back in April, as he'll begin his NFL career on New England's active roster with a chance to contribute both as a depth wideout and on special teams. He missed the Patriots' preseason finale due to what appears to be a minor ankle or foot injury, which he sustained during the team's second preseason game against Minnesota. Chism will work to get fully healthy in time to face the Raiders in Week 1.

Patriots' Efton Chism: Doesn't practice Monday
Chism (foot/ankle) did not participate in Monday's practice, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Chism continues to work through foot and ankle injuries that he picked up during the Patriots' second preseason game against the Vikings. The undrafted rookie has impressed the Patriots' coaching staff during training camp and has a solid chance of making the 53-man roster for the start of the regular season. If he does make the cut, Chism's practice participation over the next two weeks will indicate his availability for the Patriots' Week 1 contest against the Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Patriots' Efton Chism: Misses Thursday's game
Chism (foot/ankle) didn't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants.
Chism missed practice time this week, but provided his injury issue doesn't linger, the rookie UDFA out of Eastern Washington appears to be in a solid spot in terms of making the Patriots' initial 53-man roster. Added context on that front will arrive no later than next week, when roster cuts/moves occur league-wide.
