In three appearances this season, the rookie running back has played a total of 10 offensive snaps and recorded just nine carries for 60 yards. The rookie UDFA out of Michigan State was the second running back into the game for Atlanta after Jashaun Corbin, getting his first touch on the team's second possession, but Carter did little with his opportunities and was out-shone by both Corbin and Elijah Dotson in the exhibition finale. Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier are locked into the top two spots on the RB depth chart, but the No. 3 role could be wide open with Carlos Washington (hamstring) having missed the entire preseason. Carter may have missed his chance Friday to pull away from the pack.

Carter has signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Carter went undrafted out of Michigan State but didn't take long to find a landing spot as a UDFA. He'll compete for a depth role in training camp in a Falcons backfield that has Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier entrenched in the top two spots on the depth chart. Carter had 499 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns for the Spartans in 2024 while adding 173 yards and two scores on 18 catches.
