Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Reverts to injured reserve
Hyppolite (shoulder) reverted to Chicago's injured reserve Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Hyppolite is dealing with a shoulder injury that he picked up during the Bears' second preseason game against the Browns on Aug. 15. He was waived/injured by Chicago on Sunday, but he was moved to IR on Monday after going unclaimed. Hyppolite will be forced to sit for the entire 2026 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Bears.

Ruben Hyppolite: Waived with injury designation
Hyppolite (shoulder) was waived/injured by the Bears on Sunday.
Hyppolite suffered a shoulder injury in the team's second preseason contest Aug. 15 against the Browns. If the linebacker goes unclaimed on waivers, he'll revert to season-ending injured reserve with Chicago. At that point, he'd have to reach an injury settlement with the team to have any chance to play in 2026.

Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Injures shoulder in preseason opener
Hyppolite is dealing with a shoulder injury that he suffered in Saturday's preseason win against the Browns, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Hyppolite led Chicago with seven tackles (four solo) in the victory and added a defensed pass, but he injured his shoulder in the second half and was unable to return. It's not clear at this point how serious the injury is, but it takes on some added significance since Hyppolite missed two games late last season due to a shoulder issue. The Maryland product is slated to serve as a rotational outside linebacker for the Bears if healthy this year.

Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Healthy scratch for Week 15
Hyppolite (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Cleveland.
Hyppolite has been dealing with a shoulder issue of late and missed Chicago's past two games, but he didn't have an injury designation heading into this weekend. As such, his inactive status Sunday appears to be a healthy scratch. The rookie hasn't made much of an impact this season and may be getting squeezed out of the Bears' defensive rotation.

Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Past shoulder injury
Hyppolite (shoulder) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Hyppolite missed Chicago's last two games due to a shoulder injury, but his ability to practice Wednesday without restriction indicates that he'll be available to play against Cleveland on Sunday. Hyppolite's return would mean less defensive snaps available for D'Marco Jackson and Amen Ogbongbemiga.

The rookie linebacker from Maryland sustained a shoulder injury in the Bears' Week 12 win over the Steelers, and Wednesday's DNP suggests he's still dealing with the issue. Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Leaves game with shoulder injury
Hyppolite (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, Sean Hammond of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Hyppolite appeared to injure his shoulder late in the first quarter, and he was taken back to the locker room to be evaluated by medical staff. He was thrust into a starting role at outside linebacker after Tremaine Edmunds (groin) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Amen Ogbongbemiga should see more snaps on defense for as long as Hyppolite is sidelined.

The Bears placed Tremaine Edmunds on injured reserve Saturday with a groin issue. Chicago also has two starting linebackers, T.J. Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Exits game with knee injury
Hyppolite (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Giants.
Hyppolite appeared to sustain the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game and is being evaluated to determine whether he can return. He's primarily been used on special teams, but his loss would deplete a Chicago linebacker corps that is already without T.J. Edwards (hand/hamstring) for Week 10.
