Harris struggled to stay healthy, and so the sample size of him dominating at Ole Miss is relatively small. It's ridiculously dominant, though. His production vs. SEC press coverage on a per-route basis stands out above the likes of Malik Nabers, DeVonta Smith and Ja'Marr Chase. We're talking about truly elite per-opportunity production against the highest level of defensive competition. Will he be able to physically dominate NFL opponents on the vertical plane? Harris simply won with force. He blew by defenders, left them in the dust, and dunked on them in jump ball situations when needed. Is that a sustainable way to live as a pro? We're about to find out, because defenses are on constant alert against Ladd McConkey. Harris is going to get one-on-one opportunities. The question is how many? Receivers who primarily work in the deep area of the field often do not see enough targets to be relevant for Fantasy purposes. There are better late-round dart throws than Harris.

Chargers' Tre Harris: No team drills Thursday
Rotowire
Harris (undisclosed) didn't participate in team drills Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Harris left practice Wednesday with trainers after individual drills and a day later was once again held out of the team portion of practice. The rookie wideout's unspecified injury issue thus clouds his status for Saturday's preseason finale against the 49ers.

Chargers' Tre Harris: Exits with trainers
Rotowire
Harris left Wednesday's practice early with trainers, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
The rookie likely suffered an injury, though perhaps just a minor one, during Wednesday's practice. He caught six of eight targets for 85 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Rams -- a potential springboard to make his move up the depth chart after not much noise on that front during training camp. With Harris and Quentin Johnston (concussion) potentially now missing practice time, rookie fifth-round pick KeAndre Lambert-Smith should get more first-team reps alongside Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen.

Chargers' Tre Harris: Fails to bring in only target
Rotowire
Harris didn't bring in his one target during the Chargers' 34-7 preseason win over the Lions in Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game.
The rookie second-round pick wasn't able to make a mark on the stat sheet in his first official game, but Harris' stock naturally remains high after Los Angeles' investment in him in April's draft. The Ole Miss product, who exceeded 950 receiving yards in each of his last three college seasons at Ole Miss while also compiling 25 touchdown receptions in that span, is expected to open the regular season as no less than the No. 3 receiver behind Ladd McConkey (undisclosed) and Quentin Johnston.

Chargers' Tre Harris: Strong practice Monday
Rotowire
Harris turned in one of his best practices of training camp Monday, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic.
Harris showed off his strong hands and contested-catch ability while working in 11-on-11 drills helmed by Justin Herbert. While veteran wideout Jalen Reagor (lower body) has been sidelined, Harris and fellow rookie KeAndre Lambert-Smith have had an opportunity to make their marks in practice. With Mike Williams having retired, there's a path for Harris -- who the Chargers took in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft -- to earn a key role out of the gate this season, while working alongside returnees Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.

Chargers' Tre Harris: Signing rookie deal with Chargers
Rotowire
Harris is slated to sign his rookie contract with the Chargers after agreeing to terms with the team Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Harris initially was unsigned as the Chargers' training camp opened up, but the 2025 second-rounder now is poised to rejoin his teammates at practice after reaching an agreement with the franchise on the same day that it was revealed that veteran wideout Mike Williams planned to retire. As the coming season approaches, Harris will have an opportunity to carve out a key role (that could yield lineup utility in deeper fantasy formats) in a WR corps that also features Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, with Derius Davis, KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Jalen Reagor also on hand to compete for targets.

Chargers' Tre Harris: Snagged by Chargers in second round
Rotowire
The Chargers selected Harris in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 55th overall.
Harris (6-foot-2, 205 pounds) was extremely productive for Mississippi the last two years, turning 172 targets into 114 receptions for 2,015 yards and 15 touchdowns (66.3 percent catch rate, 11.7 yards per target) over 20 games. Harris was productive for Louisiana Tech before that, too, so his success doesn't seem entirely due to the Mississippi scheme. With that said, the Mississippi offense did tee up Harris for big-play opportunities, letting Harris gain big yardage after the catch on screens while wiling his way to big plays downfield in a very spread-out offense. Harris' NFL Combine performance was disappointing (4.54-second 40) and the Rebels' scheme makes it difficult to fully assess his numbers, but players who produce like Harris generally carve out a role at the next level. Harris will likely compete with Quentin Johnston and Mike Williams for targets from Justin Herbert behind unquestioned No. 1 wideout Ladd McConkey.
