Vikings' Jordan Addison: Fifth-year option made official
The Vikings exercised Addison's fifth-year option Monday.
Vikings EVP of football operations Rob Brzezinski said last month that the team would be making this move, and it's now official. Addison will earn $18 million in 2027 as a result. The 23rd overall pick in the 2023 Draft, Addison has shown flashes of big-time playmaking ability during his first three seasons, but he also was a victim of extremely poor quarterback play during the 2025 campaign. With Kyler Murray now in town to compete with J.J. McCarthy (hand), the Vikings are banking on more competency under center, which should obviously help Justin Jefferson and Addison produce better numbers in the box score.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Fifth year option to be exercised
Executive Vice President of Football Operations Rob Brzezinski noted Monday that the Vikings plan to exercise the fifth-year option on Addison's rookie contract.
Once they do so, Addison -- who was the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft -- would remain under contract with the Vikings through the 2027 season. In 14 regular-season games in 2025, the 24-year-old compiled a 42-610-3 line on 79 targets while working alongside top WR Justin Jefferson. QB consistency was an issue that impacted the duo's production last year, but the signing of Kyler Murray (formerly of the Cardinals) earlier this month could lead to an uptick in Addison's 2026 upside, should Murray earn the starting job over J.J. McCarthy, and in the process engineer a bounce-back effort following his change of scenery.

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Gets trespassing charge dismissed
Addison is no longer facing a misdemeanor trespassing charge stemming from his Jan. 12 arrest in Tampa after a Florida state attorney filed a termination of prosecution Tuesday, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
With the charge being dropped, Addison is unlikely to face any discipline from the NFL. The wideout has now had three brushes with the law since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2023, as he previously plead guilty to a July 2023 misdemeanor speeding charge and was also arrested on a DUI charge in 2024. When available, Addison has performed well in a complementary role behind Justin Jefferson, but his off-field issues could play a part in whether Minnesota decides to exercise the fifth-year option on his rookie contract this spring. If exercised, the team option would guarantee Addison around $17.5 million for the 2027 season, per OverTheCap.com.
