Lions' JuJu Hughes: Thrust into large role
Hughes recorded eight tackles during Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Vikings.
Hughes was thrust into a large role after Tracy Walker went down with a possible Achilles injury. While he easily set a career high in the tackle department along the way, Hughes was also partly to blame for the miscommunication that led to Minnesota's game-winning touchdown in the final minute of the game. With opposing offenses likely to pick on Hughes if Walker is forced to miss time, Hughes could post sneaky IDP production for as long as he is needed for heavy snaps.

Hughes has operated mostly as a special-teams option this season, only logging defensive snaps in two out of the seven games he's played in.

Rams' JuJu Hughes: Placed on COVID-19 list
The Rams placed Hughes on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday.
Head coach Sean McVay said Hughes is vaccinated, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic. As a result, Hughes could be eligible to join the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks if he's asymptomatic for a 48-hour period and able to produce two consecutive negative COVID-19 tests at least 24 hours apart. Fellow safeties Jordan Fuller and Terrell Burgess were also placed on the list Tuesday.

Rams' JuJu Hughes: Joins Rams' active roster
Hughes signed a contract with the Rams on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old served as an extra player from the practice squad and had one tackle Week 4, and he'll now join the roster in a longer-term capacity. Hughes went undrafted out of Fresno State in the spring and had seven interceptions over four collegiate seasons.
