Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Plays Friday
Brownlee made one assisted tackle over six defensive snaps during Friday night's preseason game against the Buccaneers.
Brownlee played just 10 percent of the Jets' defensive snaps Friday. Former slot cornerback Michael Carter departed the Jets for the Eagles in late October via trade. With Carter no longer around, Brownlee is set to take over the starting role for the 2026 season. The prospective starter will likely play similarly few snaps in next Friday's preseason showdown with the Steelers.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Plays nine games in 2025
Brownlee (hip) finished the 2025 season with 53 tackles (35 solo) and three passes defensed in nine games split between the Titans and Jets.
Brownlee didn't play after Week 11 due to a hip injury that eventually landed him on injured reserve. He played in two games for Tennessee before being traded to the Jets, with whom he was working as the slot cornerback prior to getting hurt. Brownlee has the inside track on the slot cornerback spot for 2026, barring any notable offseason additions to the Jets' secondary or setbacks with his recovery.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Placed on injured reserve
The Jets placed Brownlee (hip) on injured reserve Saturday, Susanna Weir and Eric Allen of the team's official site report.
Brownlee suffered a hip injury in the Jets' Week 12 loss to the Ravens and has not been able to suit up since. The starting slot cornerback was traded to the Jets by the Titans in late September, logging 68 percent of defensive snaps or better from Week 6 through Week 11. Now subject to the four-week minimum required by injured reserve, the earliest the cornerback can return is Week 18 against the Bills. Ja'Sir Taylor will likely take over at slot cornerback in the starter's absence, with newly signed Jordan Clark backing Taylor up.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Out for Week 14
Head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Wednesday that Brownlee (hip) won't play in Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins.
The Louisville product is now in line to miss his second consecutive game due to a hip injury. Brownlee has appeared in seven games since being dealt from the Titans to the Jets in late September, recording 36 total tackles, two passes defensed and one forced fumble. While he remains sidelined Sunday, Ja'Sir Taylor will likely operate as the team's top slot corner.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Not suiting up Sunday
Brownlee (hip) is inactive for Sunday's Week 13 matchup versus the Falcons.
This became the likely scenario when Brownlee was downgraded from questionable to doubtful Saturday. The second-year cornerback popped up on the injury report as a DNP with a hip issue Friday, though it's unclear when or how he picked up the injury. Qwan'tez Stiggers and/or Isaiah Oliver may see an increased role in Brownlee's absence Sunday.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Downgraded to doubtful
Brownlee (hip) has been downgraded and is listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Falcons.
The second-year pro from Louisville was added to the Jets' injury report Friday due to a hip issue, and it now appears he's trending toward not playing in Sunday's contest. If Brownlee is sidelined as expected in Week 13, Ja'Sir Taylor and Qwan'tez Stiggers will likely have expanded roles in New York's secondary.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Questionable for Week 13
Brownlee (hip) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Brownlee was added to the injury report Friday, logging a DNP, so it sounds like his status could come down to the wire Sunday. Acquired from the Titans in September, Brownlee's snap rate plummeted in Week 12 against Baltimore, and it's unclear if it had anything to do with this hip injury.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Sees snap count dwindle Week 12
Brownlee posted five tackles (three solo) during the Jets' 23-10 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
Brownlee logged at least five tackles for the fifth time in six games during Sunday's loss. However, the second-year corner played just 23 of 63 defensive snaps (36.5 percent), his lowest since Week 5 against the Cowboys when he played just seven defensive snaps. It's unclear whether Brownlee's workload will change when the Jets host the Falcons this Sunday.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Co-leading tackler in loss
Brownlee tallied eight total tackles (six solo) in Thursday night's 27-14 loss to the Patriots.
Brownlee tied Quincy Williams for the most solo tackles on the Jets' defense in Thursday's divisional loss. Brownlee, a second-year pro from Louisville, has appeared in six games since being traded from the Titans to the Jets in late September, recording 31 total tackles, two passes defended and one forced fumble during that span. He's expected to remain one of New York's top defensive playmakers in the Week 12 matchup against the Ravens.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Four tackles in win
Brownlee recorded four total tackles (two solo) in Sunday's 27-20 victory over Cleveland.
Brownlee played 57 defensive snaps in the contest, his highest total since being traded from the Titans to New York in late September. He was able to secure at least four stops for the fourth straight game. The cornerback has now registered 40 total tackles (26 solo), three passes defensed and a forced fumble over seven contests with the Titans and Jets this season.

Jets' Jarvis Brownlee: Breaks up two passes in win
Brownlee recorded four solo tackles and two pass breakups in Sunday's 39-38 win over the Bengals.
The cornerback has played on 68 percent of the defensive snaps in each of the last three games for the Jets. Brownlee was traded from the Titans in September, and he has slowly but surely worked his way up to a starting role at nickel corner. With Michael Carter recently having been traded to Philadelphia, Brownlee's spot should be secure.
