  • Cowboys' Asim Richards: Good to go for Week 17

Richards (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Richards was activated off injured reserve Saturday, and the 2023 fifth-round pick will return Sunday from a four-game absence due to a high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 12 against Washington. Richards will provide depth for the Cowboys' offensive line in his return.

  • Cowboys' Asim Richards: Activated off IR

The Cowboys activated Richards (ankle) from injured reserve Saturday. Richards was placed on injured reserve in late November after suffering a high-ankle sprain during the Cowboys' Week 12 win over the Commanders. He was designated to return from IR on Tuesday and was a full participant in practice all week, though he's still listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles.

  • Cowboys' Asim Richards: Goes on IR due to ankle injury

The Cowboys placed Richards (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday. Richards suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Cowboys' 34-26 win over the Commanders this past Sunday. By being placed on injured reserve, Richards will be required to miss at least the next four regular-season games, which makes Week 17 against the Eagles on Sunday, Dec. 29 the earliest he is eligible to return from IR.

  • Cowboys' Asim Richards: Considered unavailable Tuesday

Richards (ankle) was considered a non-participant at the Cowboys' walkthrough Tuesday, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports. Richards has been unavailable for each of the team's first two walkthroughs of the week, putting his availability for Thursday's contest against the Giants in doubt. He'll look to participate in some capacity Wednesday; otherwise, Matt Waletzko would likely operate as the top reserve option at offensive tackle in Week 13.

  • Cowboys' Asim Richards: Could miss time

Richards suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Commanders, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Richards is likely questionable at best for a Thanksgiving day matchup with the Giants since high-ankle sprains typically involve a multi-week absence. If he's ultimately unable to suit up, it'd be a blow to the Cowboys' offensive line depth.

  • Cowboys' Asim Richards: Bolsters Dallas' offensive line

The Cowboys selected Richards in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 169th overall. Richards was a three-year starter at left tackle for North Carolina, an impressive accomplishment for someone who began playing offensive line late in high school. Given his relative lack of experience, he remains a bit raw as he enters the NFL. Richards does have the length -- he's 6-foot-4 and has 34-inch arms -- to develop into a valuable player along Dallas' offensive line, it just may take a couple of seasons.
