  • Falcons' Casey Washington: One grab in Week 4

Washington caught one of three targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 34-27 win over the Commanders. Washington was unable to get much going in his return from a concussion that sidelined him for the past two games. The second-year wideout played the second-most offensive snaps (34) of any Falcons wideout, behind just Drake London (55) and ahead of Darnell Mooney (29), Ray-Ray McCloud (23) and David Sills (15). Despite the solid playing time in his return, Washington should remain far off the fantasy radar going forward, barring injuries. The Falcons enter their bye week in Week 5 before hosting the Bills in Week 6.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Logs full practice

Washington (concussion) was a full practice participant Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Washington emerged from the Falcons' season-opening loss to the Buccaneers with a concussion and missed the last two games as a result. He didn't practice during Week 2 prep and then was listed as limited on four consecutive injury reports before getting back to all activity Thursday. There's been no indication that Washington has gained clearance from the protocol for head injuries, but he has two more days to do so ahead of Sunday's game versus the Commanders.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Limited to begin Week 4

Washington (concussion) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports. Washington has been in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol since shortly after Atlanta's season-opening loss to Tampa Bay. He was able to log a trio of limited practice sessions last week and was limited again Wednesday, but he won't be able to return to game action until he clears protocol. Journeyman wideout David Sills logged 38 percent of the Falcons' offensive snaps in Week 3 to help cover for Washington's absence.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Remains limited Thursday

Washington (concussion) remained limited in Thursday's practice. Washington remains in the league's concussion protocol, and he'll likely need to log a full practice Friday if he's going to have any chance of playing Sunday against the Panthers.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Gets in limited practice

Washington (concussion) was limited in Wednesday's practice. Washington missed last Sunday night's win over the Vikings with the concussion, but his limited start to the practice week suggests he has a chance to play Week 3 versus Carolina. With Drake London, Darnell Mooney and Ray-Ray McCloud healthy, Washington is unlikely to have much of a role on offense against the Panthers if he's cleared to play.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Missing Week 2 due to concussion

Washington (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Vikings, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Washington didn't clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in time to have a chance to play Sunday. His next opportunity to see game action will come Week 3 against the Panthers. Barring an addition from the practice squad, Ray-Ray McCloud and KhaDarel Hodge will round out Atlanta's wide receiver depth chart Sunday behind Drake London and Darnell Mooney, both of whom were cleared of their respective shoulder injuries on Friday's injury report.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: DNP due to concussion

Washington (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Washington is in the concussion protocol following an impressive Week 1 showing, in which he secured three of six targets for 33 yards during Atlanta's 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers while playing 94 percent of his team's offensive snaps. If the second-year pro is able to gain full clearance from the concussion protocol in time to suit up Sunday night against the Vikings, he may again benefit from an increased target share, as Drake London (shoulder) and Darnell Mooney (shoulder) were both limited Wednesday.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Sees six targets in opener

Washington caught three of six targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers. Darnell Mooney (shoulder) was inactive, plus Drake London (shoulder) and Jamal Agnew (groin) both suffered injuries during the opener. London's injury came during Atlanta's final drive, while Agnew didn't see any offensive snaps before exiting, so the in-game injuries didn't boost Washington's role. However, Mooney's absence likely meant more action for Washington. He started opposite London, played 94 percent of the team's offensive snaps and finished fourth on the team in targets behind London (15), Kyle Pitts (8) and Bijan Robinson (7). Ray-Ray McCloud is Atlanta's primary slot WR, so Washington would be the No. 4 WR if London and Mooney are healthy for Week 2.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Healthy scratch for Week 17

Washington (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Washington had missed the Falcons' last three games due to a concussion. He was able to clear the league's five-step concussion protocols, but he will be a healthy inactive for Sunday night's game. Washington's next opportunity to play will be in Week 18 against the Panthers.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Good to go for Week 13

Washington (concussion) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Chargers. Washington was able to end the week with consecutive full practices, and his lack of an injury designation indicates he has cleared the league's five-step concussion protocols. The rookie sixth-round pick has mostly played on special teams this season, and in his limited playing time on offense he's logged one catch (on two targets) for 14 yards.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Progressing through protocols

Washington (concussion) was listed as a full participant on Thursday's injury report, Daniel Flick of SI.com reports. Washington was limited in Wednesday's practice, so it appears he is progressing through the league's five-step concussion protocols. However, in order to play against the Chargers on Sunday, Washington will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist. That could happen as soon as Friday's practice when the Falcons will assign injury designations to players on the injury report.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Records first career catch

Washington caught his only target for 14 yards during Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Seahawks. Washington appeared in Weeks 3 and 5 but operated exclusively on special teams. He saw his first career offensive snaps during garbage time of Sunday's blowout loss and secured his lone target from fellow rookie Michael Penix. Washington remains behind Drake London, Darnell Mooney, Ray-Ray McCloud and KhaDarel Hodge on Atlanta's wideout depth chart.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Unavailable for Week 1

Washington (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Washington's NFL regular-season debut will be put on hold after he was a healthy scratch for Week 1. The Falcons elevated Chris Blair from their practice squad Saturday. Blair will join Ray-Ray McCloud and KhaDarel Hodge as depth wideouts behind Drake London and Darnell Mooney versus Pittsburgh.

  • Falcons' Casey Washington: Heavy volume in debut

Washington secured three of nine targets for 27 yards in the Falcons' 20-13 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Friday night. He also recovered a fumble. While he posted an inefficient line overall, Washington was the subject of plenty of attention from the Falcons' quarterbacks while garnering team-high reception and target totals. The rookie sixth-round pick was the beneficiary of so much opportunity thanks in large part to Drake London, Darnell Mooney and Ray-Ray McCloud all being held out of action, but Washington should still get an opportunity to make his case for a roster spot during the Falcons' second exhibition game against the Ravens on Aug. 17.
