Jackson mustered a pair of limited practices after having his 21-day window to return to practice opened Thursday. He won't be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game, so Jackson will have additional time to recover during Washington's Week 12 bye before the Commanders return home to host the Broncos on Nov. 30.

Jackson spent the entire 2024 season and half of 2023 on injured reserve due to a significant knee injury. The fourth-year player has 21 days to string together enough practices to officially be activated. However, Thursday was a step in the right direction, as he was limited in practice.

The Commanders placed Jackson (foot) on injured reserve Thursday.
Jackson inked a deal with Washington on Wednesday but apparently still needs more time to recover from the serious knee injury that forced him to miss all of the 2024 campaign and half of 2023. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that this was always the Commanders' plan, and that the team intends for Jackson to get healthy and provide a late-season boost.

Jackson practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday before missing Friday's session. The second-year pro has recorded seven tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and a pass defensed in eight games this season.

Jackson started his sophomore campaign by making a statement. After recording three sacks over his entire rookie year, the 2022 second-round selection matched that during his Week 1 outing against Pittsburgh. He'll work to keep the production rolling Sunday against the Rams.
